It's not so much the program that I'm having trouble with. It's the technique. I know what/where the tools are, but I don't know what brushes are right for what.
There aren't that many DA tutorials out there on Manga Studio. Believe me-- I've looked.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
Darn I'm a SAI user as well. I used to have MangaStudio but the program deleted on me. Have you tried DeviantArt for tutorials? Or there's some tutorials that SmithMicro have put out, don't know if you know about them: LINK
Good luck!!
There are a number of different brushes, each based on a different medium. There are watercolor brushes, oil pain brushes, airbrushes, and some others that I can't think of off the top of my head.
I've mostly used watercolor and airbrushes for shading, but I'm not sure if I'm using the best settings. My art is kind of looking like pixel mush, if that makes sense.

what type of brushes does it have? like water color, marker, or different ones?
Sometimes color can look different when you use different type of brushes.
it's okay, sometimes I feel like all programs can be kind of similar when it comes to some things, but I think the tools would be a little different?
does manga studio come with different brushes?
and yes I do mean time zones I'm in the UK and I know most other members are in America/Canada, I'm about 5 to 8 hours ahead of you guys ^^; (okay, more if I counted Alaska)
Courage isnt a matter of not being afraid, Its being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway!
Thanks for your offer. I can't think of another way for you to help me right now, but if I do, I'll let you know.
When you mentioned that you're at college and most people aren't available, are you talking time zone difference into account? Because I'm pretty sure we live in different countries.

I'd love to help, but I'm afraid my home internet is quite bad so we couldn't keep up a propper lesson and the only time I have decent internet access is at college (when most people aren't available ^^;) But I would love to help some other way :)

I use Manga Studio 5. I know you're a SAI user. I'm not sure how similar the programs are-- it might just be a layout thing.

I wouldn't mind giving you some tips. What program do you use?
