I think you should make it a general blog so you can build up some followers and then when you've made a bit more music to show you can make a side blog for the music and then you'll already have a small following to show your music too ^^ You'd just need to reblog some of your own stuff and promote it a little :)

Tumblr seems to be a place for anything and everything to me, I think adding stuff about all the arts and craft you do would be a lovely complement to your music blog C:

I guess my suggestion would be to keep the music posts, and until you can get more music up you could fill time with posts about your personal life and maybe some art posts now and then. This could allow readers to get to know the artist behind the music a little better.
