Hehe I like to watch the whole thing becuase I tend to forget when the airting time is..Plus I don't always have the patience to wait..Sad but I have to be honest
Good things comes 2 those who wait, The things you lost will always replace something better..
That's part of why I'm worried to get back into "Naruto: Shippuden" because I know there's so much filler, but I am very far back in the anime that I could just watch the few 'canon' episodes and skip through the filler.
In a way the same thing can apply to many anime streaming sites, mainly Funimation and Crunchyroll. I don't know jack about Netflix, but Funimation (and Hulu) is very exclusive about their shows. Like you can't even watch a whole series, but maybe an episode or two without having to be subscribed or using their paid program. Same with Crunchyroll except you can just binge watch, the only limitation comes to episodes that are new and current.
I'm hoping it evolves instead of devolves like it has been. Wonder what the next genre craze will be.
I theorize that either Vampires or Werewolves would come back...With a bloody vengeance...lol

I'm more of a manga reader than an anime watcher, so it's tough to say. And I think it also depends on which anime I'm watching. Fun ones like One Piece I can binge, but more emotional ones lime Wolfs Rain can be painful and depressing to binge. Hmmm

I like binge-watching, but I'm too impatient. XD So I usually wind up sitting down to watch them as they air.
I totally hear you on Naruto, though -- I haven't watched it in months, and I'm currently just skimming the reviews on ANN to find out when it finally gets back to the story.
(Have you seen Yona of the Dawn/Akatsuki no Yona or Red-Haired Snow White/Akagami no Shirayuki-hime? Those were some that recently aired were really good! You might like them -- Yona is the more action-y/exciting one of the two.)

Besides Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, I don't usually watch anime shows at or around the time each episode airs. It's more of a time factor, really. My life's been pretty busy this past year what with the online classes I've been taking. When I do get the time though, I will sometimes watch the anime shows that are on Netflix. I also watch most of the shows that run on Toonami each week.
There are also a few anime shows that I've been meaning to watch but haven't been able to because of my lack of time. For instance I still need to see the rest of Sailor Moon Crystal. I've also been meaning to see an older series called Revolutionary Girl Utena.
I guess our viewing strategies are a lot alike. I can only handle a few episodes at a time. In fact, the most episodes in a row I've watched is 11. And I only did that twice in my life.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
I get what you're saying about feeling overwhelmed. I feel that way a lot when I see an anime with a high episode count.
I heard about Netflix having a hand in producing anime. I don't know how I feel about that. My problem with Netflix is that there is no free option, so I'm effed when I want to see one of their exclusives. And so far, they don't do simulcasting either.
I don't think anime will die off. I'm sure it'll evolve in some way.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
Death Parade is one of the ones in my backlog, too.
I guess dubs vs. subs are where you and I differ, since I mostly watch subs. I forgot that the Internet is more of a subs-friendly place while TV is all about the dubs.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
But while I prefer to watch anime while its airing because I believe it helps me keep track and not get bored or overwhelmed with episodes, I've found myself binge-watching or at least trying to binge watch (I'm still on my withdrawal) by means of either recording or going onto websites.
But I did hear that Netflix is actually offering a new service where they will stream, and even have a hand in producing or promoting anime, like straight-from-Japan anime, but I don't remember the whole details on it.
I'm really hoping that anime doesn't start dying off because of the recent news of bad sales and stuff.
I prefer to binge watch, but life isn't really conducive to binge-watching. I like waiting for stuff to air *cough*DeathParade*cough* despite the angsty wondering normally killing me 9 times out of 10. If it's a good enough anime that I know a lot of people like the manga version of, I'm willing to simulcast the first few episodes to see if I'll like it. I just really like watching the dubs more than the subs, especially since I like to track which voice actors have roles in what anime, and the characters they overlap. (I was actually going to write a post on Micah Solusod as the voice of Yukine from Noragami and Soul Evans from Soul Eater at some point...)

@WildGirl1977:
Crunchyroll is starting to expand their collection of older anime. And by "older" I mean pretty old. Like '70s and '80s stuff.

LOL totally with you about Netflix. No Cowboy Bebop? What even?! Speaking of which, I hate how Crunchyroll has, like, nothing made before 2000.

Cool! Yona is not too much of a time commitment, either, at a medium length of around 24 episodes. I really hope you like it!

But to answer your question I suppose I binge watch in small chunks? Hehe.
