I'm really late on this, but I think that gathering all the issues with this site is a great idea and I really hope Adam gets in touch with you.

I also really want Adam to make an update of all official active administrators. It's really hard to know who to go to when Adam is not there.

I can't really think of anything else to add since you have pretty much everything.
As for the inappropriate drawings, I think just reporting the underage stuff should be fine.

He's had some email issues apparently, so he's not had any new ones in his inbox.

He says that the redirects must be from ads. The issue is that TheO uses a general ad network that rotate, so it's hard to pin down which is responsible for it.

The only complaints I have are the promotions, occasionally I can't comment, and my avatars don't always change when ThO says they have? Over all I'm not having much trouble. I'm just...worried people will give up on this site and that scares me. I want this site to stay happy and healthy, not crumble like myO did...

While I agree with the majority of this list but there is one issue pointed out that lies in a grey area for me.

"Posting of non-exactly-appropriate Fan Art"

Could you elaborate what is exactly appropriate and what is not. I've seen dozens of work here that feature half naked men, mermaids only covering the essential parts, bloody effects and no one bats an eye. IIRC the rules state that Fan Art should be rated as PG-13, no nudity etc etc etc. In theory, just as long as certain parts of the body are covered then it's not considered nude. Am I wrong? I feel that if this doesn't fit the criteria, then there should be a lot more art here that should be flagged as well, in fairness for all members and not just to single out a certain few.

On another note. To me, "The Otaku" name suggests that it's derived from the Japanese media culture. We should all agree that this culture involves a lot of sexual, violent, and dramatic themes. Therefore, If someone were to stumble upon this site, I would like to think that person would believe that this site would include those certain themes. Maybe they should change the name.

I've been on this site for a long time now and seen it change over the years. I realize that it's not the same personality it once were. Just thinking of this maybe I have to decide to leave as well.

Hey Keba, stuff I've noticed is stuff you already have:
- no trace of admins
- no main page updates
- no promotions for over a year! the last one was February of 2016, I checked
- no update on the kickstarter

What I really want to know is, where the heck is Adam? Or any of the other admins? SunfallE? Moletta? Anybody? It seems like theO has been abandoned by all the administrators, and I don't understand why.

I know that we've been having a large amount of people leave theO, especially those of us who were around a few years ago, towards the end of the Golden Age of theO, but my dashboard has been so dead lately. I actually didn't have any updates from anyone for an entire day, which is extremely unusual. It makes me sad to think that theO might be on its way out.

Sorry to hear they has not replied. I can understand where that would be frustrating. I have experienced many of the issues listed in this post. The most bothersome is the infinite loop of fail. Like a couple of days ago when I was trying to upload an art, I experienced it, nothing but phishing and scamming. I thought I was only one that experienced this until I read this post. I'm like "omg other ponies have been experiencing the fail loop too."

And of course the art thieves and missing mods/admins and the front page hasn't been updated in MONTHS. What has been making me kind of want to leave is just the lack of care in this site anymore, no updates hardly, it just isn't as satisfying the same way as it used to be like when I first joined this site. I am grateful for the friends I've made and the inspiration to grow as an artist and hobbyist graphic artist. I don't want to leave here but there may come a day sometime soon when I may have to say goodbye. Don't want to but I will see what happens.

Exactly. I am about ready to pack my bags too. I sent an email to Adam about my problems with the server and the Ads back on 2/23 and have yet to receive a reply.

*Please note this is not just one computer issue. I have tested this on both of my personal ones, my phone, and two public computers. I highly doubt its a "you're computer is infected/plug-in is interfering/etc" thing because I HIGHLY doubt 4 different computers and a phone all have the same internal issue.

• Still being redirected. And most times I have to close the browser because it won't let me go back (infinite redirect loop)
  Also add:

• Server issues causing the website to "Not Respond" when logging in. I had to type SEVERAL times for it to register that I was in fact typing. It took 11 MINUTES to login.
• Click Lag, as in I go to select "Backroom" and have to click two or three times to finally go to the page.
• The fact that I emailed Adam about these issues on 2/23 and have yet to receive a reply to this day.

In conclusion,

I think this site is abandoned and running on autopilot. Simply put.

Oh I really really do hope at least one of the administer will read your email and take care of stuff here on this site. I don't think there's anything I can add to your list, but I totally have seen/had the majority of the problem you listed. I think the number one problem it's this: No trace of admins/mods. If there's at least one of two people actually active and present we could talk about the various problems when they come up and not sending email with a long list of problems! it's so hard to have ONE administer? (and I'm mad about the promotions, but in the end that's smaller problem...) in any case it's a shame. I'm only here from a year and some month, nothing compared to other people, and I can see as well how worse it got this site.

I've definitely gotten redirected to other sites. I thought it was my new tablet that was redirecting me, I didn't realize it was the site doing it. There was also that time my wallpaper got rejected for absolutely no reason, and the admin wouldn't give me a reason why. And of course there's the guy drawing sexy little girls, but I've given up on getting anything done about that.

To be honest I have done a few colorings of manga scans. Anyway I have experienced/noticed a ton of what you have listed here such as being redirected to phishing/scamming sites. I had to finally download an ad blocker on my iPhone/iPad to stop this, I experienced it sometime last week.

I ain't gonna lie, theO is a right bloody mess. While it is a great site overall. Unfortunately there are some things that ain't so great. The former card now wallpaper scammer is getting on my nerves, hell has been for quite some time now, she's just been a right pain the arse to say the least. And something needs to be done.

One I have personally experienced in the past is when I have been trying to submit a wallpaper, the size limit is clearly written as "4 MB" when I have gotten a bloody dialogue box saying my wallpaper size is bigger than 2mb when it is was right at 2mb or maybe a little over. This has been bothering me because I want to be able to up,pad quality submissions. I have commented at least 5 times on this issue in the reporting bugs comment box and still not a damn thing has been done!

Yes I have noticed the absence of admins and mods. Look I get being busy gets in the way and we all have lives outside the Internet. However you still need to check in to make sure the site is still running properly and users are following the rules. Instead we get art thieves and crap like that. It has been making me almost want to pack up and leave this site because I am tired of feeling that my contributions as a user are not important.
Now I won't actually delete my account. I wouldn't do that to my friends here. I am merely saying that I am tired of a lot of the (pardon my '"colorful term") bullshit around here such as art thieves, bugs galore, being redirected to phishing and scamming sites, to name just a few. And of course the admins and mods not being around to do anything about well anything. It is indeed problematic and if something is not done, well I hate to say it, it might be the end of theO as we know it. Who knows? Now that would be a gosh damned shame because I have been on here 10 years now and have made many wonderful friends I couldn't have made elsewhere. I would hate to see this site meet an untimely end.

So yes many things have been bothering me about this site for awhile such as no main page updates among others. While this comment is getting long enough. I wanted to talk about my experiences with some of the issues u had listed here. Thanks for providing this forum. It is a relief to be able to open up and talk about site issues. I love theO and don't want it to go anywhere and I would like to see it be as good as I know it can be and has been in the past.

My comments box will glitch from time to time when I bring it up to write a comment. But I don't know if that's just me. Other than that I think you covered everything. I haven't had too many problems with the videos or being redirected.

I haven't had any issues lately with 1 and 2. I think you've got all the big problems listed.

Yeah, I'm still on my premium membership and I do get a lot of ads running at the bottom of certain pages. I haven't had any recent incidents where I've been redirected to a phishing site, but I think that's still an issue.
