Hey, people! I'm back with another post. This particular post is just me kicking some ideas around as to how best to generate activity here on theO. My first thought was to do some kind of monthly discussion topic on the front page. Another was to make new users welcome by giving them some tips on how to best use theO. My final thought was about the "moderator World" that I was going to make. What do I call it? I'm open to suggestions....
P.S.: I guess my "Six Fanarts" was a bust since only four people gave suggestions. Oh well. I've been drawing other stuff, anyway, and I hope to post something soon.
Well, as the title states, I'm a new, full-fledged moderator here at theO. This means I have access to front page announcements, reports, editing user settings, and the like. Now that this has transpired, I'm here to serve you. Please let me know what you need. Keep in mind that I'm not the bossman, so I can't fix bugs or modify code in any way. Having said that, I will do anything in my power to help you, even if it means contacting the team with issues.
Now that I've made my announcement, let me leave you with a question and a request.
The question is this: do you want me to make a separate "Mod World"? I remember one of the mods did this back in the day, and I loved reading it. It made theO feel more transparent and in-tune with its users.
My request is that you spread the word about who to come to when you need help with the site. I don't have as many subscribers as a lot of you, so if you could make a World post linking to this post, I would greatly appreciate it.
I subscribe to SunfallE, one of the members of the O's mod team. I like reading her "Moderation" blog because she explains the rules of the site and what happens to people who don't follow the rules. She explains the reasons why she is forced to ban people, both in detail and honestly (unlike SOME sites I know of *cough*Tokyopop*cough*).
Having said that, READ THIS. SunfallE asked that anyone who reads this post to link to it. Please read it for your safety.
I would like to take this time to thank the moderators on the O for being so dedicated. Mods, you and the good citizens (by that, I mean good users) are what makes this site so great. Thank you.
