Hahahahaha, you're the only guy I know that will take in stride my small references to Philosophy, and respond with a comment approaching an essay! XD It seems like every time you talk to someone on here, you're making up these awesome ideas for essays!
I saw that challenge, and it interested me. I had the thought of reflecting back on my past to see were I've come since then, even before that challenge appeared. I'm not sure I'll enter it, however, since I still have another thing I'm working on (hence my long absence).
What I got out of the good ol' existentialists was the basic idea that you are what you make of yourself, so define yourself appropriately in the way you choose. No doubt this would creep into my hypothetical contribution, but so would other ideas that I continue to wrestle with, namely, Wittgenstein and some of Heidegger's thoughts on meaning and understanding. What drew me into anime in the first place, and where do I now stand?
I better cut myself off before I get going and leave a jagged essay right here in your comment box. No one wants to cut their thoughts on dangerously sharp assertions.

I'd rather see in shades of gray.
