I have a working knowledge of the States, mainly their political system. I blame that on my extensive viewing of The Daily Show. I could name the former head of FEMA, but could they name our Governor General? Hell, I can name the husband of our former Governor General! (Mr. Ralston Saul)
Do you have a roughly encyclopedic knowledge of the manga that you finish? I always have to fight the urge to finish an anime or manga right away; I always have to put it off, so I can savor each moment (or make me think, "why am I reading/watching this?").
I actually find I know more about The States than maybe I should. I chalk it up to having more friends southbound now, though. Kinda the same for them, where they in turn have learned a bit more about our geography and stuff.
That said . . . Ranma is love. It's like, part of the anime canon now.

@bellpickle:
Wow. You've been into anime for a while, eh?
lol.
I'd rather see in shades of gray.

Ranma 1/2 was one of the first anime series I ever watched, back in 2nd grade. :3
And don't worry about it; I know very little about state geography and I am American. =_=;;
