    Man, there are fictional characters that I'd like to meet. I'd like to meet Yomiko Readman from Read or Die. It would be perfect: We would spend half the day buying books; we would spend the other half reading them! We'd be perfect. Who's perfect for you? (or a close approximation).

    @Katana:

    Of course, setting up your standards by going "SHE HAS TO BE HOT" isn't going to get you very far.

    I'm definitely not saying that. I don't want to be an ass. But I suppose I'm not saying not not...ummmm...I lost myself. I'll just stop now.

    You need your ego lowered a bit.

    Quite possibly, lol.

    but isn't, like, totally creepy

    Depends on how much you define "creepy", but at least a little bit of creepy, insane, and odd is a must. Otherwise you're just a boring person. lol.

    I've already determined that my husband must like anime.

    None of my past girlfriends have liked anime OR video games. Now I'm positive that any girl I go out with from now on has to like one or the other. lol.

    I'd rather see in shades of gray.

    AND WHO DID YOU GET THE IDEA OF READING F@NBOY$ FROM EHHH?!

    Of course, setting up your standards by going "SHE HAS TO BE HOT" isn't going to get you very far. >>;

    But hey, I'd totally go out with you, Katsom. Totally. I'm not going to say you're good looking. You need your ego lowered a bit. *brick'd*

    And now, back to reality...

    Finding somebody else who likes video games and anime but isn't, like, totally creepy might be a challenge, especially since we're still in that "start of middle school to end of college" shift of life. >>; [It lasts a long time, I'm sorry.] But as the medium[s] are gaining popularity, it'll be easier.

    I've already determined that my husband must like anime. >_>;

    I guess my problem is that I've only ever known one female gamer (at least in real life, lol). I've known a few casual ones, also, but I mainly have ever met non-gamer girls.

    I was under the impression that guy gamers don't get judged as "creepy" so immediately, since young guys playing video games is pretty much a normal thing.

    In my experience, girls only tend to get creeped out if the guy is "old" and still really into video games or if the guy is obsessive with playing to the point that they don't function normally in everyday life. Otherwise... I didn't think that girls were so quick to judge.

    But then again, I'm surrounded by geeks, so what do I know. >_>;

    @bellpickle:

    Now you know how millions of fangirls across the world feel.

    In my opinion (though this may just may be me feeling sorry for myself), guys have it a lot harder. Main two reasons:

    1. Male gamers are generally considered creepy, while female gamers are just about the hottest thing ever to a male gamer (well most at least. Not the stupid sexist ones I suppose). A girl playing video games will immediately make her even more attractive than she already is to millions of guys. When I say I'm into video games, most girls just look at me strangely, and I don't really ever talk to them again.

    2. No matter how many times people tell me, I still truly think that there are a lot (like a LOT) less female gamers.

    And on another note, whenever I see fangirls squealing over a videogame/anime character I always think one of two things:
    1. That guy is a total bastard/ass/loser.
    2. I/someone I know am/is just like them.

    EDIT:
    Totally True.
    I rest my case.

    EDIT AGAIN:
    If that last one didn't make much sense, this may help a bit, but probably not too much.

    WHY CAN'T I MEET SOMEONE LIKE SYLVIA IN THE COMIC?!

    Now you know how millions of fangirls across the world feel. :P

    Well, you know, except that they wouldn't be pining over a female.
