Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

"Some of the great artists of our time started off by doodling in class. ...Maybe. Oh heck I dunno."

Another year, another digit

And so, without further ado...well, the Katana is seventeen.

Crap, now I gotta go and change my info around. Always weird...

This past year has been nothing but a feat. I survived school and finicky AP classes, managed to keep my cool in a friend's crisis, get my license and a job, and still somehow managed to goof off and be an idiot. Well, no surprise there.

Heh.

Junior year starts in a few weeks. In a year's time, I'm going to look back on this post as I head into my senior year.

True that, my year-ago self.

Thanks for the year, guys. It's been hella fun, no doubt about it, and I give a big hug to you all.

Now, cake anyone?

"Ten cars?!"

My idkbff kidnapped me today and took me to the mall to buy me my birthday present ['cause she had no idea what to get me >>;]. Ended up getting shirts...and stuff...Yeah.

Then we went into F.Y.E. because I had to. And guess what I bought as a little gift to myself.

When the cashier was checking me out, she was like, "So how do you like it?" And with a grin on my face, I answered, "It's slowly ruining my life." Then we geeked for a little bit and I felt better.

It's getting bad, though. I have to ween myself off this weekend less I go crazy at band camp. On a random note, is it just me, or is it a little weird that Joel is so very non-chalant, yet really into it in the theater? XD [Though from what I heard, actor!Joel hadn't gotten sleep in days before they shot the first episode host segment...apparently it was such a hit that they decided to keep it. Or so I've heard.]

Also, this has been bothering me. On myOtaku, there was that sidebar with all the info on a person you wanted. Now, not so much. So if you ever feel like talking [PLEASE *shot*], you can get me on all three IM services:
- AIM: Otakunumber6
- YIM: otaku06(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
- MSN/WLM: katana066(at)hotmail(dot)com

Now to return to Manos: Hands of Fate.

Year five

[I'm thoroughly enjoying the MST3K geekout below. Keep going if you want. XD]

So I wonder if anybody knows what today is. Well, most of you guys probably do...it's the fifth anniversary of the launch of myOtaku. Ah, the journal of my youth...and life...

...

Um, for the past two hours, this journal has been in its own tab while I try and think of things. Then I got distracted by watching MST3K bloopers. Sigh...

MST3K

When I was a kid, I remember watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 with my dad. Fast forward about eleven years, get me to read this comic, causing me to view this part of this terrible movie, which I fully watched (and stayed up until 4am doing so), and, well, you've got me as a fan again.

Michael Nelson can be added to my "if I was twenty years older" fangirl list. That list also contains Matthew Broderick and David Tennant. NOW YOU KNOW!

And on an unrelated note, happy birthday to Timba. The not-so-big 17. Well, 'grats on making it this far, right?

Writing Response 2

In which we learn of the plot, get some more characters, and perhaps cheer at the sight of this being continued. Now with its own guide! A Guide to...
