On July 17th, 2008, the function officially known as "Community Chat" was unleashed upon the anticipatory public of theOtaku. Since then, many things have changed but so many more have remained the same. As someone who has experienced it all, I of...

Thanks to SomeGuy for the title inspiration.
I'm awake at a late time, which is something I've been wanting for the past week. Every day has been waking up early to go somewhere or do something, and Friday was the most brutal of all because I was working on about four or five hours of sleep after being sleep deprived all week. Brrr.
And now, the week in review:
Monday was Geology, but upon arriving at the campus, I noticed a disturbing lack of cars. Going into the building revealed that morning classes had been cancelled due to a power outage. Now, yes, there were storms the previous night, but nothing bad, so it made me curious.
Turned out to be something with the construction crew and one of them cutting a line but not turning the power back on when they were done, so it blew out the back-up generators. The lights kept flickering throughout the lecture, which just so happened to be on evolution. At 1:45, the power completly went out, with the only light in the room coming from laptops. We were attempted to be taught old-school with the whtieboard but that was derailed at 2:30 when we were notified the campus was closing. Soooo I went to Panera Bread for fewd and read TV Tropes and hung out in Chat on their wi-fi.
Tuesday was more orientations at the art building, and I was lied to because it was transfer students. I've warmed up to the lot greatly since first encountering them in the winter, but it's still not very fun. What made it easy was that only one of them had an Associates, so we could pad them out with gen eds. I again had to explain the whole "art is not a 2+2 program" thing to a guy who probably could've been my dad.
I should make note of why I don't like transfer orientations: I'm not very comfortable with them. And the reason is that I don't wield a lot of authority, neither in age nor appearance. It's something I've gotten over a lot, but still something that ticks at my brain.
Got a haircut that night, which I ended up modifying a bit myself upon coming home. Still have the mongoose look; I'm trying to see how long I can get the front part before I get sick of it/my mom tells me to cut it.
Wednesday was Geology again. I ended up re-reading Fanboys most of the time. Came home and watched Ponyo, and now I have that adorable theme song downloaded (because Zune has it) and in my brain aghghfhfhffff.
Thursday was orientation again, but the last one until the late registration period, so yaaay. We built ourselves up for the absolute worse and actually didn't face too many problems. Also got MST3K volume 18 in the mail, so much joy was had.
Friday I had to wake up obscenely early to drive my mom to a friend's house so they could go on an adventure to some fiber arts fair/convention/thing. Means it's me and my dad and brother for the weekend. Came back, watched "Crash of the Moons" via Blu-ray and HDTV, which is something that was never meant to happen.
We have garage sales going on in the neighborhood, which resulted in me braving the light and going outside to explore. Didn't find much, but I did snag a VHS movie called "Surf Nazis Must Die" for 25 cents. I'll tell you how that goes.

What a way to kill time and make post filler, eh?
Great taste! Less filling!
Though I can't help but feel my filler would taste like pistachios.

Wait, do I really need to have the background of the site as one big giant honking advertisement? Seeing as how I've already mis-clicked once, me thinks this is going to be a long day.
I pray it's just a day...
Though it's funny because just the other night, TC and I (mainly I) were ranting on how much the love story that is "Romeo and Juliet" just sucks. Unless, of course, there is a sassy gay friend. I hear the anime's good, though.
Edit: Hey, the top banner changed. Yay, it's not pixelated and compressed anymore!
