I know how hard it can be to tell someone about our feelings but you must overcome the fear and tell him face to face, not through a text message, because that way you haven't seen his face or reaction when he knew about it.
The zoo is a good place to talk about this, just look at the animals whenever you get nervous and your heart is racing and you'll be fine ;D
