Dude I was totally thinking the same thing, and now I'm singing that Justin Timberlake song that he did on SNL. xD;
Ahem. Anyway, yeah, I'd totally love to participate when I can! I like a lot of the things that have been said, especially comparing the different adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. Nehs mentioned DC/Marvel vs anime, which made me think of Marvel vs DC. I guess with that though not a whole lot of people pay attention to it (not that that's a bad thing, and not that I know everything ever about it either, since I've never even actually read the comics. Instead I just sit here hogging all the Iron Man stuff). What I thought of when reading this post was-- and I'm not actually sure if it's unpopular, but I think it is-- is slash and how none of us like it. Perhaps we could do a special talking about that? Or would that be getting into, like, bad territory? Something else might be Durarara vs Baccano, which is pretty random but I guess because they're kind of similar it might work? I'm just spouting off things that come to mind. We could talk about the different types of anime (like for example, I like the moe moe stuff but you don't, so we could talk about that, or just compare all the different genres in general).
Anyway, that's all I can think of for now, but I'll edit this if I can think of any others. Thanks for putting this out there. :)

When all else fails, there's always sports banter.
I also had an idea that we could even do solo opinion pieces, in case there's something that one person has a stance in that the others don't really care about. Some of the topics I could bring to that table would be the Chicago (Sports) Mob (that'd take some careful wording), Avatar, Graceling (it's a hilariously awful book), The Inheritance Cycle (a hilariously awful book series) and why the Harry Potter series drops some serious balls despite all the awesome rolled up in it.
So, yeah. We can dissect the list all we want and use what's useful. There are some of these things on the list as to where I can take either side, depending on my approach.
EDIT: I've got some more possible topics/ideas, which I am sharing here to help the overall creative process. I'm writing everyone's down elsewhere as well so we can have a master list.
Harry Dresden vs Harry Potter
originals vs remakes (The Thing From Another World and The Thing come to mind in particular)
Pixar's Cars: does it really suck or not deserve the hate
favorite Pokemon/party strategy
Joel vs Mike
comparing different Sherlock Holmes adaptations
James Bond incarnations
comic book movies
Speed Racer: anime or movie (or not at all)
shounen vs shoujo

I'd be willing to join in on this, provided of course that I'm familiar with the topic (herpaderp).
Any Doctor Who topics would not work for me, as I've only seen a few episodes here and there (although Ducky could probably get in on those, if she wanted to). Basically, if the topics broach any of my nerdities, which I'll list off I guess, then I'm in.
Here's a couple examples of what I mean:
Tales of~ (Either Abyss, Symphonia, or Vesperia)
.hack anything
Disney and Pixar
And... yeah. I don't really have a lot of ideas, minus a Disney discussion. I think that could be interesting.

Yeah, the balance issue was also another thing, and I totally acknowledge what you're saying. That's why I factored in sort of "specials"; if we have an overwhelming opinion we could just talk about that. I figured the sides could be even, plus or minus one person in case we have odd numbers, that sort of deal.
I also intend for this not to become a blood bath, like, at the end of each episode we'd do a virtual handshaking or soemthing. xD

Here's the list I have in my binder:
