We didn't go for it, we made it! And it actually turned out quite good despite our skim-milk-misendeavor. Once out of the ice cream machine, it had the consistency of soft serve. Waffles popped it in the freezer and I'm going back later tonight for eating and photos.
Ah, ice cream. Yes, use whole milk, or even cream. It's better that way.
Know what's awesome? Home made raspberry ice cream with the raspberries from your own back yard. Yum.

Sea salt ice cream? o_O That's a new one on me.
Now, what you need is an old fashioned hand crank ice cream maker. We've had one for ages. It's got the kind you add ice and salt around to keep it cold as you churn. We always make a great peppermint ice cream using that old thing...
