Kat Goes To Cinematic Titanic - Part 2, Day 3
My parents went out to dinner, so Tom and I did the same - and went to the place of my employment. XD They all liked him, and he liked the steak, but he was getting a bit under the weather - probably because I was getting over my own illness. We swung by Meijer and picked up some Pepto tablets while I scored a 99 cent bottle of house-brand aspirin. That's awesome, come on!
Once again we made our way to the city, and by this point I practically knew the whole route by heart. Upon getting to the theater, we see that it's a bit more crowded than it had been the same time Friday night.
Buut, I was there to meet one of my online friends, Livia, and there she was, right at the bar area. I smuggled Tom up and therefore we got an awesome spot in line.
We also got to meet several members of the Cinematic Titanic forum. And they were all awesome. We had a great time hanging out and joking around, and Plushie Forrester was a huuuge hit. It was great, being with these guys who I had no clue, but because we were all slighitly delusional at the hour...oh, it was fun.
My special little present to Tom was VIP tickets for our last night. It meant we got to sit in the second row, on the side with...Frank and Trace. 83 Me, Tom, Livia, and another Tom were like a little group. This other Tom? Only the webmaster behind one of the most famous MST3K sites out there. I geeked terribly to him and offered my Photoshop skills for whenever he needed them. (Check out his report on CT Chicago; I'm near the very bottom of the page. xD) He seemed really happy on the offer and was glad I appreciated his media stash.
Livia and I giggled about and wrote questions on cocktail napkins that were never taken from us. ._. But then came the movie, and the movie was a great time, and the world was happy.
This time around for signings, I bought a t-shirt and finally got a DVD (because the two I bought last time were sent as presents BECAUSE I AM A GOOD PERSON D8<). And then I introduced Trace to Plushie Forrester.
Josh: *laughing his ass off*
Trace: *fighting off laughter* Where are the pins?
Kat: A friend of mine made this for me. Uh, a sixteen-year-old. And well, yeah.
Trace: *takes and starts playing* :O...
Kat: No pins, but wires! He's posable!
Josh: *still utterly amused*
Kat: Hey Trace, can I get a picture? ._.
Trace: o3o Okay, sure!
FFFF I LOOK DEMONIC. DX
And then I thanked him and hugged his shoulder. He was so nice. ;_;
Frank was also amused by the plush, and then Tom wanted to get a picture with him and Joel. So he did. I personally think it's one of the best Joel pictures I have ever seen ever.
Afterwards, we hung out with the CT forum peeps outside the theater, shooting the breeze, hanging out, joking around. They were really fun people. Mary Jo's husband, who goes by his forum name of RAD, was out talking with all of us. And you know what we saw? A guy propose to his girlfriend! Dude! I can't believe I got to see that.
Around 2am, Joel, Trace, and Josh came outside, and then...it was so cool. We just...hung out. Josh went off to smoke a cigarette and was joined by a few other guys, while me, Tom, and about five people hung out with Joel and Trace. A girl about my age asked if Joel was serious about Frank having Aspergers, to which he awkwardly replied, "No, uh, I was just...being funny." Pause. "I'm really sarcastic, I dunno if you know that..." Trace mumbles out, "Yeah, and I don't catch sarcasm really well..." I grinned and said, "I know what you mean - I had to tell my roommate 'Don't ever take me serious, I'm really sarcastic'."
Joel was looking at me while I spoke and then broke out laughing. "See," he said, "We're the same." "Totally man, I got'chour wavelength."
ARGH SO COOL.
Then a van pulled up and Joel and Josh left, leaving...Trace. A woman goes, "Aww Trace, c'mon, I'll take you home!" and grabbed his arm and started running off, to which I eagerly joined and said "I'll help!" The poor guy was subjugated to some pun tests before I asked if he would pose with Plushie Forrester for a photo. "Thank you, you've just made a sixteen-year-old very happy." And he just laughed.
So there we stood. Frank had come outside by this point and was chatting with some people. And there, I made a decision. Pulling out my phone, I go, "I'm calling Nehs", and Tom encouraged me to do so. So I did.
"Nehs," I said. "I'm like, five feet away from Frank."
"...Whut," she said. It was 3:30am for her.
"...Hey Frank," I said, walking up to him warily. "Can you...talk to my friend?"
He tilted his head but accepted my phone and then began talking to Nehs. The group was cheering me on (having Plushie Forrester made me semi-famous) and when I got the phone back, all I said was "I AM THE BEST FRIEND EVERRR" before hanging up, laughing, and thanking Frank profusely.
Then we decided to head home.
Swag for the night:
