Righty, totes righty. Wish I were ambidextrous so I could give righty a break XD;
Technically, everyone who holds their drawing tool like a writing tool is doing it wrong. Saw in a book that you're supposed to hold it like a wand and have your drawing surface upright. Which is really weird. In all actuality, though, there is no wrong way to art =eue= Lol *rambling*
Thanks =D Finished the sketches, gonna work on lineart today =^_^= Same to you =D
Gently!, well I do the same thing so I guess I should'nt scold. are you a lefty or righty? I wonder if that matters about writing pressure. good luck with those concepts!
No, it's bad for writing, too, because it's still pressing on my bony fingers too much =T I think in hat case, you should use pencils with softer lead, but the problem there is that they're apt to smudge. In which case, you'd have to set it with hairspray or something.
Well, drawing with added pressure is alright, but I may be overdoing it past that XD;
Too late! They already hurt what with my twig fingers and sissy wrists XD
I think that is good for writing, but yeah, it might not be with drawing! I have the opposite problem, I draw extremely light, I even do that with writing...so nobody can read my handwriting. Eventually I just stuck to using pen because then people can see it! XD
I think there's a good and bad to being able to draw lightly or not. I think you can get a lot of clean lines from drawing hard. Also maybe neither of us is holding the pencil correctly! XD
Well tablet pen I don't hold as hard because the buttons on my pen are too sensitive. But I did buy it at a bargain, soooo... =I
Depending on what kind of tablet you have, there may be a button that'll take you right to the settings. For my Intuos 4, it's the very top button. then you would select the pen icon and slide the "tip feel" slider towards the softer settings. Then you'll get better lines without as much pressure =)
I have the exact OPPOSITE problem!! I hold the pen so lightly amd draw with such a soft touch that it makes it impossible for me to get any use outta pressure sensitivity (and have lines differing in thickness for variety.)! Would you have any advice for me on how to fix it, settings to play with?

I have the same problem, I grip my pencil to hard and press to hard and end up hurting myself. Its a bad habit that hurts.
It's awesome that you're working on some concepts! Shall look forward to seeing them! XD
I'm kinda re-vamping some old characters I want to draw but it might be a while since I'm about enter busy season at work soon. T n T*
I have a brace I can wear that kinda forces me not to grip so hard, but I don't feel like I have as much control as I'd like with it on =/ Art will come =^_^=
I remember I use to do that....then I just self taught myself to not put to much pressure in my grip took a while but I managed it will usually come back but I'd just try to relax
Hope to see some artwork from you soon
I'm pretty much just busy with work and probably might do more job searching soon , also drawing but won't upload til I get all the ones I want done done
have a good one

It's definitely a bad habit, for sure =^_^;=
Yeah, plus it's a show/franchise I enjoy, so it would be pretty neat to be involved in that =^_^=
Do your best but don't overdo anything =3
