True enough... Well, hopefully things start moving forward not so much because I wanna be rich (thought I wouldn't mind having $1 mil. Don't NEED it, though...), but so I can start getting some living money =w=
That's one reason why I was worried about joining deviantArt. I thought it was a place where only the "best of the best" could be. But after seeing a bunch of different skill levels and styles I realized that it was just another platform to display art.
You are right, though. The-O is definitely the nicest place I've been on the internet. Art-related or otherwise. This was the first art community I ever joined, even =3 And I found it by chance X3
I think that's a thing a lot of people worry about. Which this is just random trivia but apparently that's super normal in Japan and they thought I was weird for talking about it in a negative way unlike it was not normal...Which is a problem in America. That's the part of American culture that is closest to individualism. I say if you are getting things done you are totes fine, no worries.
And I seriously just pop in and out...I have joined too many other sites and whenever I am having a meltdown over having joined other sites I come back here to feel better. XD It's strange how much of a paradise over here it is. Peeps are so nice and warm and everyone is like a big family...;w; Whereas other websites just leave you in the cold or troll you for the lulz. >3>
Yeah, I'm almost always stressed and try to distract myself with humor X3;;;But it was probably combined with diet and drinking really hot tea =o3o;=
I'm really stressed because I'm past the age I should've "flown the nest" by society's standards. And every time I tried to set my own plans in motion, I stopped because I thought it wasn't "good enough" This game is kinda a way to get my fanbase back since I mroe or less killed off most attention by going AWOL for a few years... =^^;= I'm glad, however, a few of you guys are still around =QwQ= I'm seriously gonna cry... =TTWTT=
Hopefully after I finish this, I can get my Patreon set up and move right into working on revamping my manga =QwQ=
Thank you for the encouragement =3 I've found I'm able to be more productive after doing a month-long challenge which showed me I could draw something every day. My problem before (and still now) was getting started. And getting distracted X3;
But the best thing is to sit down and do a little every day. It sounds cliched, but I guess there's a reason for that. Prolly cuz it works, even if it's not as fast as you'd want. Over the long term, though, you find you got more done than you thought.
Part of the reason I was getting down was because I figured nobody really expects anything amazing from me. But then again, people having high expectations stresses me out, too, so... XD; I may have been a coral in another life...
Story writing is REALLY hard at the start... because to make it good, you have to set up things like setting, characters, their respective personalities, and rules for the universe. And most importantly, once you set rules for your universe, you have to stick to them. And if you deviate, it has to make sense when you do. There's a lot to think about, but once you figure out each piece, I think it'd come together. It's harder if you're trying to write about something you don't know about, so doing research becomes a factor, too...
Uhh, sorry for ranting XD; I tried to start writing a book and then life got in the way and I put it off to the side =o3o;=
That ulcer sounds like you are under a lot of stress! ;m; I hope you get better from it and stop stressing yourself out! But I do understand your situation. Whenever I try to work on stuff my mom gives me extra stuff to do and then when I tell her I am busy she complains about how she has been busy all day and I haven't been doing anything. It's really irritating when parents don't understand what you are doing being you are using computers (which I assume is what you are using as well) which are usually for entertainment.
It's okay if you miss deadlines as long as you finish. I missed all my personal deadlines for a manga I wrote but in the end I was able to reach my goal and show and editor. As long as you don't fail other people's deadlines its okay. Just realize some of your goals might not be super realistic and just adjust the goals as you go on.
Kitty, I'm in the same boat as you, and trust me, I know how frustrating it is. I've set this personal goal of starting a long-term story in June and it really looks like I won't have everything set up in my life to start writing it at that time. I'm upset that I have to postpone it. I feel like I let myself down, that I failed, you know? Like you said, it hurts your confidence in yourself and your abilities.
But yeah, life gets in the way sometimes. You get real busy, you get sick, you start feeling bad emotionally/spiritually and you have to deal with that first sometimes.
But we WILL get through this and finish our large personal projects, even if it takes longer, and it'll be GREAT because we finally finished something! How exciting!
I'm doing my best to take care of it, but I can't wait until repairs are done because they're coming out on the 1st to look at the house, I don't even know if that includes actually repairing anything. As much as the lazy side of me would like to, I couldn't possibly, I've already pushed things back two months from my original goal. Besides, working on it will help me feel more relaxed as I pass some milestones. I can do both.
Ah, but I drink tea all the time, which was part of the problem. I drink it fairly hot and that plus the caffeine was aggravating the issue. For the most part I'm better. The only time it hurts is when my stomach is empty. Plus, the medicine I've been taking is making me severely dehydrated, so last night is gonna be the last time I take any as long as my condition stays stable.
Thanks for your kind words, though =3 Encouragement helps the stress somewhat X3 *gets hit*
Take care of yourself before over everything else. Don't worry so much about your game. Once all the important stuff like getting the house ready for the repairs and your grandmother's birthday are done then you can relax and work on your game again. I hope that your ulcer will go away soon. You don't need that slowing you down. Maybe if you like tea try to drink so tea every once in a while to help you relax just a little bit and focus.
