No actually the vector part is fairly simple. The sketching and cleaning up the color base for any unfilled pixels may be the more tedious part, for me.
This is true =w=; I'm too stubborn to relegate any tasks out because of the subject matter. Also because at this point, it's more finished than incomplete. Also, I wanna have credit to myself (aside from attribution for music, sound, and references). XD (Too broke to pay anyone, too...)
Thank you~! =D I hope so, too X3

Ah yeah, so the tedious part is the vector lines? 'cause you already have the sketch drawn. For me it depends on what I am doing. If it's a head it's usually pretty fun (unless it's at a weird angle) but if it's a background then I feel like I am running up a steep mountain.
Yeah and you are one person so you are probably doing a lot more than you are giving yourself credit for. A lot of people who do these sorts of projects don't do them alone. They have a team of some sort. I hope you get a lot of good feedback once it's all done~ :3
Well, I don't clean up, I just put the lines right on top of my sketch (rather, I have 3 sketch layers: skeleton, basic shapes, and finished sketch) and they're vector lines with the curve tool, so I don't have to spend too much time redrawing the same line. Sketching actually is a bit more stressful because I'm trying to figure out how things are established. once my poses and environment are down, then it's a bit easier.
Well, once the CGs are done, then there gathering up sound fx (which I didn't do beforehand, but got music XD #priorities) and putting things together and figuring out how to code any little extra "animations" needed. I've never really worked with ren'py much before this, so it's a bit new. This project is my way of getting into it. It was supposed to be a small one before a bigger one, but it turned out bigger than originally planned X3 Still, glad these previously unused characters are going to be getting the love they deserve~ Literally and figuratively =eUe=
I kinda have a plan. My biggest issue is just getting TOO distracted. I work best with music, but I take a lot of breaks. And sometimes they go longer than they should. But that's been in the past few weeks because of other life things breaking my momentum. One reason why I don't like to stop for anything that isn't 100% necessary. XD; But if I didn't get out every once in a while, I'd probably go insane XD;
When I have long projects that require lots of work I just listen to let's plays nonstop. Just anything that is funny and makes me not worry about what I am drawing. Also its good to plan what is monotonous and doesn't require much focus with stuff that requires more thinking. Like sketching is fun, but when you clean it up for the lineart I find that takes a lot of mental effort. Whereas lineart is not so much. Coloring is the worst though...>3>
And you are way more than half way done so I think you can do it! It might seem like a hurdle because you are almost there but not quite yet. When that happens to me I like to write down all the things I need to do (like even little things like draw details on this one small thing) then label them from easiest to hardest and then just choose based off of your motivation. But you should start with easy to get you into the accomplishing groove and then something harder, but make sure you do the hard so you don't end up with stuff you are intimidated by.
I have almost 100% completed a manga that I was working on and I went through almost the same feelings (except I didn't have work so I didn't have that to worry about). Also remember to take breaks for your eyes and hands and stretch your hands! I didn't and my hand felt like it was broken by the end.
