My screen name? I was writing YuGiOh fan fiction in eighth grade and needed a name for an OC that was gonna be like an author avatar, who was the best friend of Atem (if that's what his name was) and (gasp!backstory) the eventual grandmother of Menes, who was the first recorded pharaoh in Egypt and when I went to register for theO a year later, I had scrapped the fiction but still loved the name because I took hours just trying to SPELL it. Seriously, I strung together something that sounded ancient Egyptian-y and sat there for a few hours attempting to spell it... and I've always been a less-than-stellar speller.

I used to be picky about pronunciation and abbreviation and all that. Now, I just say to hell with it. I know it's a pain.

The wearing of goggles actually depends more on the weather than anything else. If it's humid, that makes my hair all curly and ruins the effect. If it's hot, I sweat, and the same thing happens. I do deliberately wear them to open houses and orientations at the university (the recruitment officer encourages it), and wear them nearly all the time during the school year.
