When Sakura awoke, Kyo and Syoaran were at her side. "What happened?" She asked.
Syaoran shook his head. " I was hoping you could tell us."
"I-I just can't remember..."
Syaoran grabbed Kyo by the shirt collar. "What did you do?!"
Kyo grabbed Syaoran's hands and shoved him. Surprised, Syaoran staggered backward. Kyo raised his fist.
Sakura sat up straight in her bed. "Please don't fight!"
Syaoran looked pale. "Forgive me Princess. Please excuse us. We need to talk."
Sakura helplessly watched them leave.
"I didn't do anything to her," Kyo said defensively.
"Well something happened, and you were the last one with her!"
"Madame pomfrey says that she has suffered from a curse of some sort. The kind of magic
that infiltrates the nervous system, and then targets short-term memory patterns is not child's play. This is the magic of a stronger wizard or witch." Kyo said darkly.
"Like the Space-time witch?" A voice behind them said.
Syaoran swirled around to see the Griffindor Yusuke.
"If I had known that letting her know would bring her so much pain, I wouldn't have done it."
Syaoran looked livid. "What did you tell her?"
"Just that youre the boy she keeps remembering. I was getting really pissed off that you were doing so much for her and she couldnt even remember you. It all goes to show that no good deed ever goes unpunished."
Syaoran turned on him, forgetting about Kyo. "What- Why did you- How did you even know?!" He sputtered.
Yusuke crossed his arms. "Let's just say that in my world you are legendary. If I said anything else, the space time forces holding this world together might completly unthread."
"If you knew that why did you try to make sakura remember me?!"
"What can I say? I'm a fan, I had to at least try."
"Do you kow what we are looking for then?"
Yusuke slowly inclined his head.
"Have you seen it?"
"No."
Syaoran sighed. Another lead lost! Yusuke seemed sincere, and he questioned him no
further.
"How is she?" Yusuke asked.
Syaoran shrugged. "Broken leg, injured head. She's very weak."
"Sorry..." Yusuke said with discomfort. After a moment, he smiled and quickly left the
awkward silence behind him.
Kyo was utterly confused. "Excuse me, what's going on?"
Syaoran confessed that Sakura was indeed cursed. He explained the sacrifice he had made to save Sakura's life, the travels they were making to different worlds, and that Sakura would never be able to remember him. "She must have been fighting to keep the memory... I don't want her to remember me if it's going to hurt her."
Kyo tried to keep up with the story. " First of all: I told you it wasn't me who hurt her. Second of all: I don't know what to say. I believe your story of course-I thought there was something fishy about your whole group from the moment you arrived here. So wait.... then where's the real Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?"
Syaoran shrugged. "I really don't know."
