Welcome to Leijiverse, the.Otaku.com-based fan-site WORLD that focuses on the anime and manga works of legendary manga author Leiji Matsumoto (such as Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, Submarine Super 99, Cosmowarrior Zero, The Galaxy Railways, Queen Millenia, The Ultimate Time-Sweeper Mahoroba, SF Sayuiki Starzinger, Danguad Ace, etc) as well as the late Yoshinobu Nishizaki's most legendary sci-fi franchise Space Battleship Yamato (which Matsumoto himself helped create). This will also focus on non-Leiji Matsumoto-created movie and T.V. projects based on the master's characters and works.

News: GE999 TV Series On Arrive On R1 DVD

For all you North America-based fans of Leiji Matsumtoto anime out there. Tonight is a moment of good news because after years of waiting, ANN has confirmed that the 1978 anime T.V. series adaptation of the 1977 manga serial classic "Galaxy Express 999" will finally be brought on region 1 DVD, except that the release includes only Japanese audio with English subtitles, unlike the 1979 film version of the same manga, whose R1 DVD release includes both dub and sub options. However, no release date is yet confirmed, but the release will be handled by S'more Entertainment, a company specializing in DVD releases of vintage television series and cult films within the North American continent.
