You betcha! It's called Matsuri Special. It's about a girl who is a pro wrestler, but wants to keep it secret because the boy she likes thinks that tough girls are disgusting. It's not completed yet, but it's very cute story so far. It's a little stereotypical of a shojo manga, but it's entertaining to read.
I've figured that I've been ignoring shonen stuff, but don't worry guys, I'm not planning on forgetting you. I'll be doing more of actiony-guy stuff.
This post is a little late in coming if anyone noticed. Better late than never though.Sorry about that. now the excuse: I've been working on something for another blog I'm planning to start, I won't be forgetting this one though, because the other one is going to be something completely different.
Today I'm featuring a Miyazaki movie that I'm pretty sure isn't among the more well known ones, like Spirited Away.
Whisper Of The Heart is a movie adaptation of a manga of the same name.Whisper Of The Heart is about a girl who notices that every book she checks out of the library has been checked out by the same person just before her. She investigates this coincidence and finds that the boy is a aspiring violin maker. His dedication inspires her to start pursuing dreams of her own.
It's one of the most pure and clean anime that I've seen. I enjoyed the innocent love story. The movie isn't all sunshine and rainbows though, but I like that about it too, It makes the movie realistic. It's rated G so it's great for anyone with a kids or kid siblings.
Translucent Syndrome. It's a made up disease that is the namesake of this weeks featured manga. Translucent is a manga about a girl, named Shizuka , who has Translucent Syndrome and how she deals with it in her life.
Translucent Syndrome is a disease where a person turns invisible. In Shizuka's case she gradually goes invisible and then reappears again (sorta like a moon cycle). There are other cases like keiko, another character, where they go suddenly invisible and never regain visibility.
This is really funny and sweet manga, It also has little bit of a psychological element to it. The art style isn't the normal manga art style, it's more realistic but it's still beautiful. - Thanks for reading
Hello again to whoever might be reading this. Today I'll tell you about another manga. It's the shortest manga series I've ever seen, with two books that could be combined into one book that could be 1/2 inch thicker than a normal volume of manga.
Notice how it seems alot of my Manga series I feature are short? I figure it's because unlike creators more popular mangas, authors of lesser known mangas don't have much financial incentive to keep the series going. That probably explains two-thirds of the anime version of Inuyasha, but anyways, onward towards the feature! pun intended.
The series is called Someday's Dreamers, just in case you didn't already figure that out from the post tittle. It's basically about A girl who goes to Tokyo to train to be a professional magic user. In the manga magic is used by empathizing with the person the magic is being used on. Another thing in the manga's world magic users are often victims of prejudiced.
This is a pretty girly series, so if your a guy even if you don't read it you can recomend it to your girlfreind or some other female in your life. ciao for now!
This weeks post is sort of a double feature. I say that because I'm doing one series, but I'll comment on both the anime and manga form. Magic Knight Rayearth & Magic Knight Rayearth 2 by CLAMP is the anime that got me into anime and the only series that I've watched the anime of and read the manga.
The basic story of Rayearth is that three junior high school girls: Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu get summoned to the land of Cephiro by it's ruler Princess Emeraude. They Find that they must save Cephiro to return home. For those of you who have read or seen the series you know that what is required to save Cephiro is alot different than the girls, or most of the audience think.
In Rayearth 2 the girls are summoned back to Cephiro to help again, but not by Princess Emeraude. I'm not going to say more because A)I want to try and avoid spoilers for people who are watching or who are planning on watching either series and B)the anime of Rayearth 2 differs from the manga than the original Rayearth.
I liked the series overall because the manga series are only 3 volumes per series and that leaves room for the anime to expand on the story without ruining it. Thanks for taking time to read this, Rayearth is one of my favorite series ever and I recommend to atleast take a short break and read the manga.
