MY POV

When I saw him staring back at me, I didn't know what to do. I just thought I'd rather be anywhere then there and BAM! I'm stuck somewhere in the woods. If only I knew where. I sighed and sat down on the forest floor. I really was pathetic. I fell for a guy, got heartbroken by that guy, got over that guy, and got heartbroken again by the same guy because I learned he was engaged. Fun right?
I heard a twig snap and some leaves crunch. I turned around quickly and came face to face with the guy with the glowing red eyes.
I hope he's not gonna eat me.
We both hope that.
He was in a crouching position and he leaned towards me and...
Sniffed my face? Where's the vicious growling? Is this some sort of dream? I pinched myself, hard. No, it's not a dream. He drew back and glared at me then lunged.
I prepared myself and put my arms in front of me in a defensive position but no pain came. Instead I heard the crunching of leaves and grunts that sounded like two people were fighting?
I turned around and saw 'red eyes' fighting another guy. 'Red eyes' snapped the other one's neck in a way that I wouldn't want my neck snapped in. Heck, I don't even want my neck snapped in any direction. 'Red eyes' got up off him then stared down at me, raising an eyebrow. I raised one back as if asking 'What am I supposed to do?'. He sighed and rolled his eyes.
"You're supposed to tell me your name." He said. His voice fit him perfectly. I liked it. A lot. I think a little too much.
"Oh. Right." I replied, hesitating.
Should I tell him my name? What if this some kind of trap and he really is gonna eat me?
I figured that not too much trouble could come from this so I told him my name. "I'm Jessica."
"It suits you. I like it." He said. I raised an eyebrow at him. He smirked and turned around then started walking away.
"Hey! You never told me your name!" I called after him. He turned his head over his shoulder and he was still smirking.
"Did I say I would?" He asked. He was obviously amused.
"Not but-" I started, but he cut me off.
"No buts. I never said I did." He said, turning his head back over his shoulder and continued walking away.
I shot up from my sitting position and ran after him. I caught his arm and spun him around.
"Listen up, Mr. Red eyes! You're not supposed to be the smart-ass! That's my job!" I said. He was still smirking and I could see that he was amused in his eyes. Surprisingly, they weren't red anymore. They were a dark brown.
"Sure it is." I looked after him, with my mouth hanging open. That's it? Seriously? "If you leave your mouth open long enough, you might catch something." He called back to me, without turning around. I huffed, irritated, and ran after him again. This time I was determined and I wouldn't give up until I learned his name. I jumped onto his back and latched myself on.
"Tell me your name!" I yelled. It didn't seem like my weight fazed him at all. He just kept walking, holding onto my legs, as if to steady me.
"Give me a good reason and I'll consider it." He said, still walking.
"I told you mine." I said, with a puppy dog face. He craned his neck around and looked at me, resting my head on his shoulder.
I'm not exactly sure what it was about him but I was drawn to him and if I wasn't careful enough, I might not be able to let go. And no, I'm not just talking about getting off his back.
"Sorry, that doesn't work on me." I huffed again and gave up. He kept carrying me like this and i wasn't exactly sure where he was taking me but I saw a little cabin up ahead.
"So, this is you're little hideout?" I asked, pointing ahead at the cabin.
"Hideout?" He asked, still walking.
"Well, yea. I have my hideout. Well, it doesn't exactly belong to me but it's the forest. In a way, I guess you could say it calms me and there's a bunch to find in the forest." I said.
"There's also a bunch to run into, in the forest." He said, setting me down, so he could open the door. "By the way, it's Luke." He finished.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"My name's Luke."

MY POV

Amby, Lea and Jazzy left my room so now I was alone again. The glass on the floor was cleaned and all the glass that were in my feet were out and now my feet were bandaged. I don't think my mirror will be the same again, though. Maybe I should get a new one? I did break it, in the first place. I guess getting a new one would be a good idea. Ya, I'll go get a new one. Before I knew it I was already outside. But I wasn't walking to my car, I was walking towards the forest where I saw him. I had to know him. I don't know why, but I had to. I knew they were bound to find me but it wouldn't hurt to try to find him.

AIDAN'S POV
~~
I was walking around outside, going over what had happened. Jess's friends keep giving me dirty looks, Kage can hardly speak to me and Ryan's been busy hanging around Amby. I wish it could've been different. I especially wish my father didn't arrange all this. 'You need an heir to the throne', he says. 'Amanda is the perfect way to get it'. Why now? Why did I have to meet her now? My thoughts were running wild and I didn't know where I was walking towards, but personally, I didn't care anymore.

MY POV

By now I was deep in the forest. I didn't bother to mark a trail. What was the point? I would get lost anyways. Just like I did right now. I sighed and sat down on a log.
Well, great. I'm lost again.
Smooth. Very smooth.
Shut up. I'm not in the mood.
Are you ever?
The stupid voice in my head won't leave me alone. Sometimes I'd like to bang my head against the wall to shut it up.
Like that'll help.
Do you ever stop talking?
Yes. Just not around you.
Ugh. I hate that voice. After a while, I decided to get up and walk around more. No point in just sitting in one place for hours. I didn't know how long I was walking for but I soon arrived at a little river. It looked calm and peaceful. I sat down beside it and ran my fingers lightly through it.

AIDAN'S POV
~~~
I came to a little river and I looked down at it. I was already in the deepest part of the forest and the darkest. It's probably been an hour since I left the house and I don't think I'll be head back any time soon. I was stupid enough to tell her and I'm even more stupid for kissing her while I was engaged. When I told her it was nothing that was a lie. It definitely wasn't nothing. It was everything. In all the girlfriends I've had I've never felt that. It felt so different. It felt like something I couldn't explain. And as cliche and I sound right now, it's all true and I'm tired of denying it.
FINALLY! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK YOU THAT LONG TO ADMIT IT!
Too bad it's too late.
Then I finally noticed her. Jess was sitting right beside the river looking into it while running her fingers through it. How I had missed her I'll never know but there she was. She looked up and for a few second our eyes locked. Then, as if it was just my imagination, she disappeared. Was it just my imagination? Were my eyes playing tricks on me?
I pondered that for a while but I knew she was right there. Where she was running her fingers through were little ripples in the water. She was actually there. But how did she disappear?

We finally got back from our 'Girl time' and when I saw Aidan sitting at the kitchen table I was a little confused.
"Hey, Aidan. What are you doing here?" I asked, casually. I said I was over it and I meant it.
"I came to apologize. What I said wasn't necessary and I also came to tell you something." He said, looking anywhere but my eyes.
Uh oh. That's never a good sign.
Kage and Ryan were sitting in the living room and I sat across from Aidan.
"Go ahead..." I said, cautiously.

"YOU'RE ENGAGED?!" I screamed.
"Ya..." He said looking away from me.
"YOU KISSED ME AND YOU'RE ENGAGED?!" You're not supposed to kiss a girl and just tell her you're engaged! It just doesn't roll that way!
"HOW COULD YOU?!" I screamed again.
"I-" He started but I cut him off.
"Save the apologies for somebody who actually cares. I can't believe you would do something like this." I said in a calm voice.
"Jess-" I again, cut him off.
"Don't call me that!" I yelled. I lost all respect for him.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"Sorry? Sorry?! That's the best you got?!" Here I was, a heartbroken girl who just got heartbroken again. By the same guy, too! You'd think I'd learn. "I HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY LIFE WITH YOUR FUCKING WIFE!" I screamed, running upstairs to my room. I locked the door and stood with my back to it. I slid down it and into a sitting position.

AIDAN'S POV

"That went well." Kage stated, standing beside me.
"Define 'well'." Ryan said, standing beside Kage.
"I was expecting her to at least hurt you. Guess I was wrong." He said.
Truthfully. She really did hurt me. Juts not physically. I could see the hurt and betrayal in her eyes. That was enough to make a guy cry. If I looked in her dark brown eyes for more then two second I knew I would be balling my eyes out. Jazzy, Amby and another girl gave me dirty looks before running upstairs to the room that was now blasting music. I sighed and closed my eyes.
I hate arranged marriages.

My iPod speakers were blasting out my music. It really didn't help because of the songs they were playing. I switched it for the third time and finally came to a song that I liked. That would get my mind off things. I figured crying wouldn't help so I just stared at myself in the mirror for a while. That doesn't help either. My eyes were red from crying and I wiped them away again. I groaned and I sat down on the ground and just thought. Then I felt one of my daggers poking me. I pulled it out and threw it at my mirror. The glass cracked and broke. Glass flew to the ground but it only fell around me. Not on hitting me. I was too engrossed in my thought to care. There was no point in moping because either way, he'd still get married. I got up off the ground and heard Jazzy, Lea and Amby banging on my door. I walked over the glass- getting a cut on my feet here and there but I didn't pay attention. I walked out onto my balcony and looked out onto the forest. It was about four or something like that. Since it was almost winter the sun was lower then usual. I felt a cold breeze and I zipped up my sweater more. I quietly sang along to the lyrics that were blasting out of the speakers.
"...When I woke up today
And I saw your face
I knew there was something wrong
I just can't get away with all these fucked up things I try
tell me why?
I am going through these changes
I don't know what is going on

I sighed and blew my bangs out of my eyes. I looked farther into the forest and I could've sworn I saw glowing red eyes. They were staring right back at me. Suddenly they got closer and closer until a figure emerged from the forest. He was breath taking. He was staring up at me and walking forward... Suddenly, my door burst open and Jazzy, Amby and Lea stumbled in. I quickly turned back to them and they were staring at the glass and the blood surrounding my feet. Guess I was standing out here for longer then I thought. Then I remembered the guy I saw. I turned back around and looked to the place where I saw him. But he was gone. Just like that...

Sometime in my moping I fell asleep and I woke up with somebody banging on my door. I groaned in annoyance. I finally got my alarm to shut up and now this.
"Whaaaaaaat?!" I yelled at the person behind the door. Amby barged in with Jazzy and a girl I had no idea who's name was.
"Get up." Amby said. Jeez, talk about demanding.
"I don't wanna." I said covering my face with a pillow. Amby pulled it off.
"Jess, Kage told us what happened with you and Aidan." Jazzy said, sitting on my bed.
Stinkin' Kage and his stinkin' mouth.
"So, we're taking you out." The girl who I have no idea who's name is said.
"Oh yea, that's Lea. She was my old babysitter." Amby explained.
Tell the whole world why don't 'cha?
"Now, get up." Jazzy said pulling the blankets from me. I held on tighter and cuddled into the bed more.
"Let go!" Jazzy yelled, struggling with the blankets.
"No! I don't wanna!" I yelled, holding on tighter. She managed to pull the blankets away from me and again, for the second morning in a row, I ended up sprawled out on the floor. I blew my bangs out of my eyes and I glared at Jazzy then got up. "There. I'm up. 'Ya happy now?" I said, irritated.
"As a matter of fact, yes I am." She said, smirking. I glared at her and went to my closet.
"Exactly where are we going?!" I called, from my closet.
"We're taking you out to eat and then more shopping! Just us girls, this time!" Amby called back to me.
"Fun." I muttered, sarcastically under my breath.
"We heard that!" They called back to me at the same time. I quickly got dressed in the yellow shirt and black skinny jeans that I bought with Jack yesterday. I put on my black, dangling skull earring and my black studs in my second holes on my ears. I ran a comb through my hair. It chose today to actually cooperate.

I thought, sarcastically. I walked out of my closet -it was a walk-in- and grabbed everything else I might need. I slipped my phone in my back pocket and my wallet in my other one. By now they were in the car honking the horn. I looked out my window and saw that they were in Amby's car.
"I'll be down soon!" I called down to them. I ran downstairs and out the door. That's when I noticed I wasn't wearing my shoes. I ran back inside, grabbed my shoes and attempted to put them on. I finally managed to get them on. Tripping only once, my personal best. I hopped into shot gun and we drove off.

"You're such an idiot!" Kage said, hitting my other the head again.
"Okay! I get it! What I said wasn't exactly the smartest-" I started but he cut me off...Again.
"No! That was the most dumbest thing you could say to her!" He yelled. He's been doing a lot of that today. "Look, you may have not liked her and she may have not liked you, well, probably not..." He started.
Ouch. That hurt. And he tells me to say stuff gently.
"But she could've! And you don't just say those things to a girl!" He yelled, again.
How did Jess put up with this?
"You better apologize!" He yelled, finally finishing this rant.
"I will, I will." I said. Anything to get out of this.
"You better. Especially before the wedding." He said, walking out of my room. Did I forget to mention I'm engaged?
