That is understandable. Could try to convince him to be a coach. Those kind of games always gave me mixed feelings. It is good with the team doing well and keeping control of the ball but it would be nice to be playing.

Yeah sorry, I play with home school girls and the JV is rec soccer cuz they are to young to play against high schools.

That's great that you won your scrimmage. So do you play rec soccer and school soccer or just rec?

If you want to keep playing rec soccer try and see if there is an adult league you can join. Oh, also most forgot, congrats on your soccer win.
