I'm glad! It's never fun to be underpaid for the hard work you do. And, even if you think you're not good enough, you are being hired to do a job, draw a picture for someone. Even if it's not in a building and you don't have bosses telling you what to do. You are your own boss! Isn't that great!
A good way to figure out prices, from my own personal experience, is to time how long it take for you to do a single drawing. If minimum wage where you are is $7.50 for an hour and it takes you an hour and a half to do a single drawing than charge around $8-$10 for it. Don't under charge yourself for your own artwork. Anyone who knows how hard you work will be willing to pay for your art.
I think you will get some business if you make sure to get the word out there. Facebook, twitter, tumblr, facebook, word of mouth... anything.
At least my idea for my commissions, I was going to start my digital drawings a little cheaper, because they don't cost me a cent to make. And doing those commissions would get me more recognition, meaning I could sell OTHER things to people. You know? Get my foot in the door.
Since you're offering headshots, it would be cheaper than the full body of course. I've seen different prices, ranging from $3 to $15. I would pick something between that. As the average price of a headshot. Adjust the price according to the different difficulties.
