Yeahh...though there are some companies who seem to restrict them from doing different genres or something....Like most seiyuu are ONLY Jpop, that's why all their songs sound stereotypical...O.o
There's no rule that an artist has to be one genre. As far as individual songs with sounds from more than one genre, it'd probably be called "fusion" or something like that X3
...those are her more...pop-ish sounding songs...but the media just makes you THINK that they're j-pop when they're...I dunno...O.o Well, most of her other music are R&B, besides those few...Or just something similar.
Though saying an artist is just one genre (unless they're like a seiyuu or something) is really confusing, because not everyone sounds exactly like their genre...though...there are SOME who do...like some Kpop artists...O.o Well, the ones that are more independent don't really have that much of a specific genre, like Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru. I wouldn't say Ayumi Hamasaki is ONLY Jpop, because some of her songs don't really sound like Jpop...O.o I dunno...genres are confusing....>.> Especially dealing with Jpop to Kpop to Pop to R&B...they kinda mix together sometimes...'orz
Really? =o_o= I've heard Simple & Clean, Passion/Santuary, Beautiful World, and This is Love. They seem closer to pop than R&B, but I wouldn't say they're completely pop, either....
Really? What songs of hers have you heard? They all sound like R&B to me, and that's also one of the genres she's listed under on wiki...
I don't really consider her a J-pop singer, though that's what she's known as...I consider her an R&B singer who's popular in Japan (but SHOULD be popular in America...>.>)...and she's also not listed as a Jpop singer on wiki....O.o
XD;; Dealing with people is difficult sometimes...
Well that's why I said get rid of the "awful" rap... not all of it. X3 J-rap's still good, then again, I don't know what they're saying, usually, anyway! XD;;
I wouldn't really think of Hikaru Utada as R&B, though... =o.o=
...I am...even if I don't like the person...TT^TT Though I try to cancel it off by giving them glares or something...O.o I'm not good with people...'orz
Haha! XD I AM very picky...That'd be nice...but there needs to be SOME rap in the world...>.> I mean, the good kind, or the original kind...
I know! I felt the same way! There was some Utada Hikaru song I was listening to, I liked it, but I wanted it on the station where I listened to the more R&B sounding music...but it put a thumbs down so I freaked out...TT^TT

You're not very nice to everyone are you? XD;; Lolol Your very existence says "I'm picky" XD If you became a music critic, maybe they would get rid of all that awful rap music here in the U.S.! XD;; (Rap used to be better... now it's gone downhill... *sobs*)
I can't say I don't have preferences, though, I can understand the whole "Wth is this crap, it's nothing like what I want on this station! *presses dislike button*" And sometimes you might like a song, but think it belongs to a different station... well they have that option, but it puts a "thumbs down on it" which makes me feel like, "well, wait, I like it don't give it a thumbs down! D="
