I keep forgetting to make a log of dreams...I need to find a notebook to use...XD
Omigosh...you're right on the jazz thing! Sheesh...Americans...*shakes head*
I'm still mad about that! I heard it's because Americans seem to have a bit of prejudice over asians. Especially in the media, they're very much looked down upon...for no specific reason...O.o; I wonder why this is, but it really makes me mad that America ignores that pretty big problem and all they talk about are blacks and racism which isn't even big nowadays...>.> Or even with Latinos (though, I think this needs more media attention, also)
American pop has the same cheesy sounds. I've noticed that it's pretty easy to tell what kind of remixing etc. comes from where. Japanese have the broken messed up sounding remixes (with the skipping and weirdness...I dunno, it's hard to explain); Koreans have the instrument mixing, where you can still identify the instrument, but it has been mixed to have a soft and strange sound; Germans have a lot of the futuristic bee-boop-bop sounds and also have the same kind of sounds as almost all the other pop (not saying this one is original, it's the others that are original); but America has this weird really cheesy sounding pop where it almost seems like they got the left-over unwanted bits from their competitors and just slapped it in there. America is like a beginner artist or beginner designer, they find a lot of cool aspects together and put them together, but the outcome isn't actually high quality and shouldn't be commended, but it is...>3>
I understand what you mean. That's apart of good dancing, the sharpness or smoothness (as I like to think of it...Contrasting words! XD). My friend tried to audition for cheerleading, but didn't make it onto the team and she complained to me about how they kept saying that you have to make tight moves when you're dancing and that, that makes no sense since dancing is more about the flow. But flow needs to be controlled, so you DO have to have tight and sharp movements so that it will look smooth to the viewer or more interesting.
Oh, really!? Your little sister like jpop/kpop music!? That's sooo cool and unfair since my brother DETESTS it...TT^TT Same for my parents, they all like scary rock...'orz
Oh, that's really interesting. I saw her in an interview on 60 minutes where she was talking about how that's her job, to catch the news so they don't get into her private life or something, but I never really thought about it belittling her...I kind of feel bad for her in a way, if she thinks that's what she has to do...
Most of the singers I can sing along with best don't yell...I think Alan is a FANTASTIC singer. She doesn't yell, she wails...XD But, still. There was some singer from my school getting accolades for her singing, when I thought she was pretty bad compared to some other singers at my school. She was YELLING into the microphone, that's when I first realized that this 'singing' isn't really singing, just yelling.
Haha! XD That's right, kinda! But I've noticed a trend with...every kind of music. They all have a certain sounding voice. American pop has the women with deep yelling voices and Japanese pop has high pitched nasally voices.
I kinda DO have my own style, but it bores me and it's kinda plain...>3> I guess with some work, but still...
Ah, I'd use the computer! XD But I work with all kinds of traditional media. I can't really think of any traditional media I wouldn't work with...hrmm...maybe silk screening since that seems pretty boring...but I've never been taught how to do that, so I don't really know. I really like acrylics and coloured pencils, though, when it comes to colouring, and pencils, I am IN LOVE with.
I love Hurricane Venus! When I first heard it, I was like /scoff. But then it got stuck in my head, and that changed things. My little sister is obsessed with BoA, so I hear a lot of her.
Lady Gaga... she's a'ight. I don't mind her as a person, and I really enjoy her music BUT. I don't like all the famewhore-y things she does. I just feel like she's belittling herself in some way. But other than that, I don't mind her. I listen to her, and if I had a chance to meet her in real life, I probably would.
I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME. The whole screaming thing. My brother calls it 'diva-ing'. When people try to show off their vocal skills by doing scales and seeing how long they can hold the note and bellowing and whatever. It's sad, because I usually like singing along to music, but sometimes the artist is so busy screaming that I'm just like '_'
Not that I'd ask every music artist to sing in way that I could imitate or anything, but. C'mon you guys. The world only needs one Christina Aguilera.
Well that's cool about the practicing different styles. They say that's one of the first things artists do when they start out drawing. They copy/imitate from others until they can develop a style on their own.
I always admire those who can do really good traditional art. It scares me though, because it's like, one mistake and it's RUINED. I think the furthest I'd go with traditional art now is watercolors. What kind of media would you be using?
