I know it! When it comes to colouring it's sooo easy to get distracted...;m; You have to actually think about what you just doodled...It's like...some sort of...no there is not writing equivalent to it. Once you doodle it down you kinda just wanna leave it, going back and adding a whole new dimension to it is a pain.
Haha! I'm jealous and also not jealous because it may show their dedication to the pic, but it's not exactly efficient...XD There are artists who can make masterpieces from 3 hours and other artists who can make masterpieces from 3 weeks. It's just how you pace yourself. I think I'd prefer to be over with it in a couple of hours, but I'd like to be comfortable enough to be able to colour nicely and speedily.
Yahhh...;m; I was reading some posts on conceptart.org to try and help me with colouring 'cause some people seemed to have the same problem. The only good advice I found was to try a limited palette of the basic primary colours and then go from there. But the guy also said to start traditionally and then you'll understand everything...
But then I'm sitting here thinking...'Wait a minute, I've already done that with colouring pencils'...Was anything solved? Nope. Can I make cyan with traditional paints, yes, but not if I have only primary colours. Is cyan an important colour in digital painting YES.
But they were trying to paint realistically so ja...
XD Haha! It's just encouraging for you to say that~! ;w;
I know how you feel, that's why rarely any of my comics are colored.
I dunno, it's like, I get distracted easy, and sometimes, my coloring ruins the picture, you know?
I still can't grasp how some people can spend MONTHS on a single picture! Uggh, so jealous! D:
YES, COLORING. IT IS THE ENEMY... I totally get you with the coloring. ""orz I look at all these pictures that people draw, and all I can wonder is "HOW DO YOU EVEN DECIDE YOU'RE GOING TO COLOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?" It's just enigmatic to me. :I And digital coloring has always been confusing to me. I just can't make any sense of the techniques... orz Thanks for sharing the pictures, though. I really like that kimono one. *0* I can't even imagine what it'd be like to color those...
Good luck with your shoujoooooo manga thinggg. :D Sorry you're stressing out about random aspects of drawing. ;u; Just keep at it, maybe you'll feel better! /not very encouraging "orz
