Pretty much. If you don't want to post anything on DA for the public you just post there for privacy. In fact, you just drag and drop the files from your computer. It is surprisingly really nice! O.O
Maybe you should practice drawing popular western actors to get a feel for "manly men"? (WESTERN ACTORS, DUN DUN DUN...) It'll probably be weird at first since you seem more used to drawing Japanese and Korean idols, but MAYBE YOU'LL GET USED TO IT? 8D Just a suggestion, though. :9
