That's wonderful! That would be great to get some pointers from those in the business!
I think it's neat that the fact that they're still going to see you, being an American and such. Maybe they're curious to see how young american storytellers are interpreting the... um... manga world? Ah well, good luck and I hope you'll learn something great!
+ Moreover, I agree, backgrounds in manga panels are important! I haven't even taken a glance at Tokyo Ghoul, but I've looked through manga that lack backgrounds. It's a little hard to follow without grasp of where the characters COULD be standing. Gangsta. has... 97% background throughout volume one? Meh. Dynamic stuff. Dynamic angles and variety are a must! But, you knows this stuff all ready~ ' u'
