Yeah, I totally know what you mean...I gotta stick to that sort of motto...
Although in the end my mom sat my down to write it...but I still have a few things to correct and then I am sending it off (unfortunately I forgot to do that tonight...so unfortunately the lady has to wait longer...;orz)...but whatever, I'll just do and do. XD
Well, perhaps it'd make them look good, but it won't kill them if you decide not to. You don't own the school and it's not necessarily your obligation to improve their rep, so... Sorry, that sounded blunt.
Yeah, and the thing with the grant is that there is also one for professionals and it really doesn't matter when you apply. I dunno what is with the pressure of my school and professors on doing it..,I think mainly because it makes the school look good if you actually get the grant...

Hm, if you're wondering how to tell the instructor you wish to decline, you could go with something like:
"I'm sorry, I may have explained what I said improperly. I don't exactly know how to write a traditional research paper. I've also discovered that the beginning of your school year and the end of mine conflict so I would be unable to come. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I thank you for your time."
Something along those lines. Sorry to hear that things won't work out on that front, but , hey, maybe there's a better way to achieve your goals on your own pace =3
