Now why didn't I see this sooner.... I love it!!!! It's so creepy and scary yet soooooo cute!!!!
Oh and sorry I haven't posted any thing here. I've been getting ready for my next con and I had to sew a coat. It was the 1st ever time I sewed something from scratch!o.O It was hard but I thinks it's good for my 1st.
lol True. I might try dying a wig if I can't afford a new one, though. I've heard that some people mix sharpie colors to get that perfect shade, since a lot of characters have dull or dark colored hair. I can't remember her name, but it's that girl from Xenosaga, someone cosplayed her and dyed the wig and extensions to get that perfect pale blue color. I'd be too scared to try mixing colors, I'd probably completely ruin the wig. lol ^^; I'd probably try to dye it dark purple and end up with neon fushia. lol
Yeah, but it's about the only way to dye synthetic wigs. This is the first time I've tried it. There's another way to dye wigs with Sharpie markers that's not so time consuming. You take an amount of rubbing alcohol and mix it with the ink cartridges of Sharpie markers, then you just mix the wig around in it to dye the whole thing at once.
My grandma knows how to read patterns and she's tried teaching me before, but we always just confuse each other. ^^; lol And I know what you mean about hand sewing. I hate it too. Right now I'm trying to finish a costume before a convention at the begining of August, and I'm having to do quite a bit of hand sewing on it, as well as hand sharpieing. >_< Most people use sharpie markers to dye wigs, so I'm using it on some fake fur that I need in a different color. It's hard to color fake fur by hand with a sharpie marker... ;__;
really? you can't read patterns? a sewing class can teach you how to read one, thats where i learned. im making a blouse right now, well... more like a corset, but it takes a side zipper? and i have to hand sew the bottom together... i hate sewing by hand!
Yeah, I agree about the blouses! I made the blouse for my Misa costume, and I swore that I would never make one again unless I absolutely had to. >_< It's also really confusing because I can't read patterns. ;__;
Aww. But I've done that too. I'll finally make and finish something, then the next day I'll need something that I used. ^^; But hey, you finished a loli skirt! n_n I've only made one so far, and I'm not very good a making poofy skirts yet.
Ah, yeah, I know what you mean now. I have skirts like that too. Would you be able to put elastic through the band to make it pull tighter? If it has a zipper, you could stitch the elastic down on both sides of it.

yep, we cant exactly take the band off to shorten, the skirt is lined and would fall apart. because its lined, if we did a pinching job on the band, its to heavy and would dig into my waist.
I guess the one that's bigger is made where it's harder to take in? I always have trouble with sizes. It's so hard to find things that fit right. ...I blame my big hips for it. >_> *wishes I could just squeeze them in*
when i got two skirts from fanplusfriend, one was too big, and the other too small. the small one had an elastic waist band, so we just replaced the elastic. the big one we still haven't fixed yet.
Thank you! ^o^ Oh really? You were thinking of buying the same one? ^^ It really is pretty, but the band around the shoulders was a little tight on me. I had to add a lace extension on each side of it to make it fit better. The sleeves also came up a bit short, which is why I cut them off and made it sleevless. ^^; This is the first lolita dress I've been able to afford so far, and probably the only one for a long time.

I think you will! I'm always really shy, but I've started opening up more at conventions! ^^
You had to start all over!? o_o I'd probably give up for a few days if that happened to me. What character is the coat for?

So true. ^^ It's always so much more comfy without a wig too. They get to be really annoying after wearing one for a whole day at a con. >_>

Maybe dyeing a darker wig could keep the colors subdued?
