It's true. It's hard to judge a manga by just drawing or story. This time, I just chose the fav. manga-ka by their drawing. Maybe, next time I'll go with story.
Ken Akamatsu is awesome manga-ka too. I still remember the Hito Natsu no Kids Game manga was his first one and it was pretty good one too! from that, AI Love You and so on.
I gotta say, Rumiko Takahashi has some best manga story and arts! Also she's richest Manga-ka in Japan (or should I say "she was"). All her work she have done, became so famous! It's kinda sad that she have past a way last year.
Yuzo Takada made some good series too. A lot of ppl remember his name from 3x3 Eyes and Blue Seed, but I remember his name from Nuku Nuku and Everyday is Sunday.
I could go on too, but I'll let you go sleep. LOL

I can't choose, I'd feel bad for doing anything like having favorites based on art styles. Also, I can't say based on story either... or least favorites (thats meaner)... but I do have every book by Ken Akamatsu published in America in english :3
Ken Akamatsu : Love Hina, A.I. Love You, and Negima!
I do especially love the art style of Rumiko Takahashi who did Inuyasha, Urusei Yatsura, Ranma, and many others while I'm not too particular about the stories :/
also, Yuzo Takada who did 3x3 Eyes [A++ on art and story](I really enjoyed the manga - seriously one collection I want to complete) and Blue Seed (great drama-anime)
I could go on, but I'd get no sleep...
