::*sighs*:: What a terrible post to type. And even worse to read over it. I hate to say it but you should delete it soon after you've recovered yourself. It'll bring back that clutching sensation in your chest. I hate that feeling... :(
I agree with the others for the most part. Sadie is going to a better place. I think any person who loves their pet would rather see them in a peaceful slumber rather than live through pain for someone else.. It's that love and faith that will carry you through your dog's absence. I've also lost my beloved first pet. His name was Mizrah because he was always so miserable. xD For a full week, I'd lost sight of him. Went all around the neighborhood searching.. only to find that he was under my bed the entire time. He ate a mountain that day and pooped out just the same. But I didn't mind.. :} My family traveled much back then. We still do. But it was the first time we were going from Florida to New York. We couldn't travel with Mizrah so we left him with a friend of my mother's. Mind you that this dog is a very small terrier. When my mother went back a few months later to get our sweet pup, she came back empty handed. She reported our dog missing.. along with her so-called "friend".
..at a later time, when me and my sister were much more mature. She told us that she saw the dog.. but his butthole was enlarged. O_o" We were grossed out. She said that he couldn't walk straight anymore and she had him put to sleep because he looked like the pain was excruciating. It was a sad day.. and since we believe in reincarnation, we prayed for him and hoped he would be reborn as something more. I think you should do the same. Send Sadie off with a smile. I think that's the best thing you can do for her. ::*hugs you close*::

I know how you feel. I've been there in the same situation many times. It's a hard thing to go through, but you're not alone. *hugs* Sometimes, it boggles my mind when I come across people who aren't "animal" people, let alone "pet people." They're the type to go, "Pfft... Why is she so upset over a dog....?" Bah, those people don't understand. But they're the ones missing out. From what I can tell by your post, you and your canine companion were good buddies. ^^
I hope you take it easy for the following days; give yourself time to gather strength. Pets like that are like family, so when one goes down, it affects you. *hugs*

*hugs tight* You were right, this is a sad post... I don't really know what to say so... Keep your memories close to heart, and keep moving forward... *hugs more*
I'm so sorry. That's not a happy way to start the year. =(
Two of our animals had strokes and we were forced to put them to sleep, a guinea pig that was nearly 10 years old, and a rabbit, around 8. It was painful to see them like that, and even harder to let them go, but it was what had to be done. They weren't enjoying life like that. It doesn't make it any easier though. It's been 8 years since we put Daisy to sleep and I still think about her. I'm glad I can still remember her so clearly. ^_^
Thanks for letting us know, even though it was hard for you. It's good to be around people who can relate.
Take it easy the next few days.
