Can't keep a good Aussie down for too long, eh? :p It's really good to hear you're safe and I'm sure you're making life easier for those around you just by being there :)
Hey gorgeous,
Sorry for the scare. I sort of let life wash over me for a bit since the floods. A lot of stuff kept me off the computer (mostly not having a computer :3) and then just as the cyclone hit we drove up north to attend my grandfather's funeral.
I'm still in one piece and safe in Brisbane again.
My dad has been running around in a professional capacity (counselling as a Mental Health Social worker in the worst flood affected regions) and he's had a bunch of stories to tell. Lots of crushed people, but almost everyone he helped had a ridiculously funny sense of humour about their situation.
A man who lost everything to cyclone yasi sat on a couch where his house used to be, said that he didn't have insurance and had lost everything had and added, "well at least I've got a cold one" and cracked open a beer.
We're going to be fine as a nation, I've got nothing to complain about.
I hope Liam is OK. From memory he lives in Brisbane so he shouldn't be affected by the cyclone, but I'm not sure if he's moved since we last spoke. Fingers crossed!
