Right. I assume then that their advice will be sound. Just make sure to check the amount of RAM in the laptop you'll be looking at, and if Vista is preinstalled. If it is, then you'll want at LEAST a gig and a half of RAM so the graphics won't consume your processor. If not, then so much the better, because you'll be free to get whatever OS you want.
Yeah, I've already posted a thread for advice on the Anime Pulse forum and got some responses so far.
Basically I want something that's a decent size (not too big, not too small), easily portable, doesn't create a lot of heat and noise when running (my old one was very bad with that). All I really want is something that's going to do well playing videos, like if I transfer some of my anime over to it. Something that will support the codecs and programs I need to play videos.
All you need to know is what you need it to do. And talking to someone else about what you need usually helps you nail down what you need, since it makes you think about it without actually seeming like you hadn't already thought about it.
So tell me what you want it to do. I don't know all that much, either, but I know enough to help out a fellow non-computer-whiz.
Wah, I wish we lived closer so I could kidnap you for an evening so we could watch it and fangirl about all the hawtness of the guys in the movie which I haven't seen yet and nobody wants to go with me D:

So, uhh, what cable was your old monitor using, and what was the available port on your tower?

Buying a new computer is easy and takes no effort.
Perhaps to you. I'm completely confused about what laptop to buy. I don't know anything about computers. ._.
