in medieval times, there was no printing press. so all books were written out and illustrated by hand by scribes (usually monks). sometimes, with large books, they would spend their whole lives scribing just that one book. using feather quills and a bottle of ink they wrote out the text in carefully measured straight lines. they really are beautiful and amazing books. so i'm trying to do the same for an art project. i have a dip pen and bottles of ink, and am writing my story out and will illustrate it by hand using ink like the monk scribes did.

no problem. i recommend looking for the book of kells. in my opinion that manuscript has the most beautiful illustrations.
