i love crayons! my classmates always give me very strange looks when i get excited over things like that. they tell me i need to me more 'mature' and 'serious'. but i say if i'm going to teach elementary kids, i'm exactly the maturity level i should be at.
Yeah, high school is one of those times where there are always the 'adults' and the people in your class who get hyped up just because we get to use the little white boards for class (we did get very hyped up along with the dat we got to use crayons)
LOL that's hilarious! i want to be in your class! i'm in college, so all my classmates are boring stuffy adults, and wannabee teenagers. so i'm lacking in entertainment.
I know, one guy at my table was making a bracelet for a girl who sat behind us, he knocked on the desk and said that someone was at the door. The teacher went to go check and the guy threw the bracelet over to her so she could try it on. and they did the same thing so she could throw it back. I think the teacher knew something was up because everyone was giggling.
Of course! That happened in math since we have tables of four (we sit in a circle) and me and my friend would just watch the other two argue about weird things. But we all got separated...
well, i still sit alone during times like when i eat, or on the first few days of class. i like to sit and observe everyone around me. being solitary is okay.
That sounds like fun. I'll definitely look into it when we sign up for clubs again. I just hate not being able to talk to someone without being awkward. It doesn't help that they're like "OMIGAWD YOU DON'T SIT WITH ANYONE? OMG I FEEL SO BAD FOR YOU!!" No, I sit alone because I usually like sitting alone...part of it is because I'm shy, but the other part is that I'm usually a very solitary person anyways...
yeah, i know. i was on the book club in middle school, and we were such a small group. 4-7 perhaps. but i definitely recommend you check our key club. it's a community service/leadership building club. i went from a shy person to a very vocal person who likes being in charge of groups. i can't to be a teacher.
There's a key club at my school, but unfortunately I was so caught up on homework that I missed the deadlines on joining any clubs! So next year I might do something like that. My Career Ed teacher also recommended me on going on the FBLA, so that's kinda cool. Nobody's ever recommended me onto a club before. When I was in middle school, there was a book club and I always ended up being one of the more vocal ones. But there was so few people (I think the most was ever seven I think) that it got so easy to just...say things y'know?
i was completely the same way! but then i joined a club, key club. and my junior year i became vice president, and found that being in front of my friends in the club was kind of fun, being in charge. then i was president as a senior, and it completely eradicated my fear, because i had to stand in front every week. it helped me decide to pursue a degree to be a teacher. i miss my key club, it did so much for me.
I'm hoping that'll happen to me, but I'm just a really shy person in real life. (Hard to believe when I'm always all over the place here on theO but y'know, it's always easier to be yourself on the 'net than in real life because no one really knows who you are 'nd stuff) But it's weird, if someone is with me up front then I can talk easily, but if I'm alone it's like "Oh god they're going to eat me!"
I don't want this semester to end because I have Oral Communications next semester, and I...am horrible at talking in front of the class. I mean, to the point where I'm not able to sleep well even WEEKS before a presentation. I need to work on it. Because I like sleeping.

i love it when the seating arrangement is in a circle. it makes it so much easier to observe everyone at once. maximizing the entertainment.

Yeah, just kinda sitting back and watching people come and go is pretty relaxing, you get to see things people don't even notice.

My fall break was just having Monday off. But apparently we get done with first semester in December instead of January so I guess that's good?
