Okay, just checking, nothing that's super-romancy is in it, just simple hugs and stuff, I thought people that I, or people that RP along with me, would get banned for just playing out part of the story. I understand why you have the rules here and all, it's to make sure everyone is comfortable with the chat.
Most people who are doing RPing openly state that they are. Still the same deal. Chat is to be kept to a PG rating and that does not include mock relationships where you start getting all touchy feely. I don't instantly ban or kick someone out. I ask them to keep it toned down. They only get in trouble when they refuse to listen and continue doing it anyway.
If your sole argument is that no story can exist without some form of kissing and licking and hugging that borders on going further than a simple kiss or hug... then to be honest, people need to broaden their list of what they actually read.
Also, this isn't a seperate list of rules, it clearly states in the site terms that we don't allow more than simple hugs and kisses and that chat is to be kept to a PG rating. I posted this to help make it clearer to people just why they would get in trouble for that kind of stuff in chat.
If someone really wants to be a bit more 'mature' with their roleplay there are plenty of other services besides chat that they can use.
And what if it's not showing off, what if it's just part of a huge on-going RP-story? Just like any other book, there has to be every element for the story to be good, I'm not saying there's cyber-stuff (if there were I wouldn't be a part of it), but you can get banned from chat for just doing part of a role play? And most people don't even know about this page of rules, what happens if they didn't know, that seems quite unfair to kick them off the site entirely.
I wouldn't even ban someone just for roleplaying either.
We don't ban people for role playing, as in mock fights and such.
So what if they do the first example? doesn't mean they're going to have cyber right then and there.
So what if we ask people to take Public Displays of affection elsewhere? It's not that hard to take it to a service like AIM or MSN. Whether or not they have further intent is besides the point.
The point, which you seem to be missing here, is that if people wish to act all lovey dovey, it's something they can do elsewhere.
I wouldn't even ban someone just for roleplaying either. So what if they do the first example? doesn't mean they're going to have cyber right then and there.
I haven't been in this chatroom and can't until next month, soo yeah.
I wouldn't go so far as to suggest banning online dating, but I can see why you'd discourage PDA's in chat that result from it. It's one thing to indicate you hugged someone and yet another to do more.
The phrase "get a different room" is quite fitting for this kind of thing.
I'm pretty sure everyone knows where I stand on this issue. I'm happy to be the poster child for meeting someone on this site and actually carrying a good relationship. I've actually met my GF, so that's a little bit different. But unless it's a clear case of harassment or PDA'ing in chat, then I would have to say "No this isn't allowed."
But as far as "Dating is for dating sites, silly. XD" goes, you'd be surprised how people meet each other. That's the nature of the internet.
I don't think I see it nearly as much as others. Still, I've decided that if I do see anything, I'm giving them a 15 second "get a room" countdown. If they comply, then no harm no foul; if they don't, they both get the boot.
If they complain they can't make their own room yet . . . well then, I guess I'll tell them it'll be something to look forward to once they can.
Otherwise, they just need to shut up. "Last warning" as the first warning is always a good line for that.

Oh my gosh, thank you. Yesterday, you can pretty much ask anyone who either read my world or was in the chat in the morning when i was, I was really irritated at that. I was trying to give them a chance, but dang. I stayed away from the chat for hours and then i decided to go back because i hoped they'd be gone by then, and luckily they were. If they were still there, i wouldnt be on for the rest of the day and probably at least half of this day.
If members really need to do that stuff, they can do it in private chat, or through a whole new website. We dont need tha stuff in the open. Its annoying. Especially if one of them is already taken.
o_o Why would you want to date someone you never met? That just seems kind of dumb to me. And if you do... aren't their online dating services for that? oO This is an anime site, not a dating service. XD I don't understand why people even do it.
I don't like the other either. I don't want to see stuff like that in chat. Anytime I do, I feel like telling them to get a room. ^^ I think it's rude when you can use AIM or the private chat.
i soo agree with you...
i mean that should be private or something and after a break up they shuldnt spam the chat with their insults and stuff...thats really annoying
oh well hope they wont provoke and that this turn out well :)
I do have the sensation that most of these type of situations happens between the younger members, or maybe that is not entirely true. Either way, I do agree with you when it comes to online dating, we shouldn't have to read or see that on the chat. Its so awkward to read such a things anyway. XD
Yup, the amount of complaints I've been getting for this kind of thing is just absurd really. So people need to know that we won't tolerate it. I mean it's not like they can't use Private Chat. Members can't see that. But then that defeats the purpose of showing off. :p

I'm glad I have permission to do that now, so I don't have to give it a second thought. :D
But seriously, just as a member, such things are annoying. If people want to act all lovey dovey, there's PMs, private chat, various IM services, etc. The only reason they use the public chat is 'cause they want to show off. :/

I would never do stuff like that out in the open. o_O It's just inconsiderate and rude to the people who came there to relax and chat with friends.
I'll be sure to remind people that this kind of behavior is not acceptable if I see them doing it.

Online dating. Bah, humbug. What is so wrong with being single, I will never know.
Also, quick question. If I am, per se, in fox mode, is it wrong to nuzzle someone? >>;
Just curious. Since its happened before, and I don't want to use my familiarity with the staff as an excuse to bypass the rules.
