Gees, is ANYBODY here doing things the honest way anymore. I admit again some accounts are registered on my comps (desktop, laptop, PSP, and PS3 yeah, they're pretty much like comps to me) they are my club account, my MOM, and my COUSIN. :| I can login into some other folks accounts but I never do unless they give an OK.

Right, I forgot to mention the joint club account Ikari Warriors too, I login into that one too (but then again so does a couple others)

I'm glad some people try to change instead of continuing to be dishonest.

Like Aaryanna, I already know about this member. I also echo the same sentiment that Anomaly posted.

I kind of agree with the sentiment of not understanding why some people are driven to do certain things for popularity. I can hazard a guess, but I don't really know this member so I would most likely be wrong. Still, trying to face up to it instead of running is always a step in the right direction.

Even if it took quite a while for her to decide to step up and face the music, the fact that she finally has admitted to going against site rules is commendable. It takes a lot of courage to come clean about something that's been going on for years.

Many of you have been asking why Iruka Sensei is no longer on the top member list.

Not really, I remember when Adam publicly said no to giving her a second chance because she had been busted so many times. This was back when her friends were mass pm'ing him since they felt that Beth was being too mean.

Unfortunately, they didn't know that Iruka had been running from the staff for years. But the rest of us knew. So when we saw that she was here again and that her subscriptions dropped dramatically last year, we figured that you, the staff, had dealt with it and forgot about it.

It wasn't hard to guess that if she was blacklisted from the top member list, it meant she had done something again. I can't pretend to understand or know why, like Crystia said, none of us, other than perhaps Korey, really know her. But I do wonder what drives someone to take things a step further.

Most people just accept that other than perhaps close friends, they won't have a lot of popularity. We might want more, but we never do anything beyond desiring it. And like Miss Anonymous said, we'll review ourselves and stop doing something since we mature and grow up.

In all honesty, based on what's been said, it sounds like she slipped up and is accepting the fall out from that. I wish she hadn't done it, but at least she is trying to move past it instead of hiding or running.

No, you have an opinion. No one begrudges you that either. But in all honesty, as much as some of the comments might sting, no one has outright bashed her. For quite a few people it is puzzling as to why others would go to such lengths to get attention.

I don't see ignorance in that but genuine curiosity. I'm not going to get into the reasonings behind why someone would do such a thing. Mainly because I don't know Iruka that well and also because unlike others she is trying to put that behind her. Sometimes, that's the hardest part of all.

I just think you're taking the comments a little personally and seeing that she is your GF, that too is understandable.

I fail to see this. I called out someone's actions in regards to their beliefs. I find them stupid. I'm not trying to justify any sort of deceitful action to whomever Iruka decieved.

Quite honestly it didn't affect me in the least bit, so I could give about that much of a damn about it. Kids still make alt nicks and try to boost their popularity and it's a problem on theO, but I'm only a chat moderator, so it's not my job to fix.

I say biased since you know her, so naturally you want to say something. So long as there is no justification for the behavior then I think we're good. That's something I can respect as well.

You're definitely in a hell of a situation here, buddy. The last time we did this, we were responding to friends of trouble members - we weren't their friends. Ace' went to town on a couple bluntly and unrestrained. Still, he was civil and kept the facts on the table and his emotion out of the way. But the point remained that they were just younger kids on the site - not his or our friends, not emotionally involved as such.

This time, things are a little trickier. As much as we condemned the many, many things Iruka has done over the years (much of which we never openly discuss with anyone outside of, say, myself, Adam, Beth and Gail - remember a lot of this is going back years), we also know for a fact that her friends are emotionally involved in our lives too.

Iruka came clean after some prodding. Alright, fine, that's cool. So we can be nicer this time around than the last. And y'know what? We're trying to be nicer for you too. You think we're being harsh about her now? How much worse do you think we'd be typing if she wasn't involved with you?

Korey, you're a good guy. We appreciate that and always have that in mind when we say anything on this subject.

Please don't jump on us when we're already trying to do this much.

It is a conflict of interest on your part. Plus she needs no defending. Clearly the staff, in this case Beth, has decided that she's not going to be kicked off the site. Considering that she spent years dodging them, believe me I know, I turned her in when she ran about half a dozen times, this is more than fair and she did make an effort to come clean. No one is begrudging her that.

But the bottom line is that most people's attempts to gain popularity don't include deceiving their peers and friends in the process. It's great that you're willing to stand up for her, but ultimately I see it as unnecessary. Especially when quite a few members have known all along.

It's not the fact that people want to be popular that can be upsetting, but rather the methods in which they take to get there. It's also about honesty. Generally when a person does something that's illegal, dishonest, or unhealthy in order to get something, whether it's popularity or what have you, then they're going about it the wrong way and only harming themselves in the process.

If you want an example of my own attempts to gain popularity, fine. Here ya go: I used to make really crappy Tsubasa wallpapers for theO, way back when I first joined. Sure, that was all I knew how to do in Microsoft Paint and my options were limited, but I would churn out this shizz every day. And it wasn't so much because I wanted the wallpapers to look nice, but because I wanted the attention more than anything. Later I changed this attitude, thankfully, and ended up deleting a lot of my old Tsubasa stuff.
But see, the difference with my story and several others we've been hearing lately is that I didn't have to break site rules or be dishonest in order to gain attention.

I applaud Iruka for coming clean on the matter, but I wish she hadn't done it in the first place.

Funniest thing about this is that I had a conversation with Iruka about the whole thing and I really kinda upset her with my indifferent attitude towards the popularity thing. I could have a bazillion subs and I bet you I couldn't tell you 5 things about each of them. To me, popularity is earned through actually getting to know people and just being yourself. It's a difference of perspective on the matter.

Now, and I guess I'll get ribbed for this later, I challenge you to honestly and openly admit that you have never EVER done something to be more popular or acceptable in someone's eyes. Whether it'd be cutting your hair a certain way, trying to lose weight or even change some of your mannerisms. It's easy to type it and say "No I've never done this, Korey, you arrogant buffoon. While I don't like how certain people choose to get attention, I don't condemn people or think lower of them. It's not fair to the person to say "Oh ho you were bad Iruka Sensei. Why people do that to get attention is beyond me." when you have most likely done something similar to some degree. So I'm not about to jump on the double-standard bandwagon and say "Why people do that is beyond me."

Well, good thing is, this case seems like the opposite of TwoFaced in that the offender is willing to come clean and take some responsibility.
