It's because the publishers know we have no other way to get them. Especially now that curriculum is being revised every other year, so the odds of getting a good deal on a used book is pretty much nil.

Well I was thinking in relation to how the rest of the day went. o_O I can't help it that most of my books, even the used ones were over a hundred dollars each. -_-
I agree though, the price for books is pretty absurd if you ask me. What makes it worse is I ordered them through a book store instead of getting them on campus. So I actually got them cheaper than if I had bought them at the school, even with the shipping costs. I saved around a hundred bucks doing that.

Ah so you decided to post about it. It was certainly very odd and startling. It's a good thing for her that the police showed up because I would have ended up macing her for being such a pain in the ass.
And yeah, the price of books is just insane. It's absurd how they keep going up and up.
Oh wow... o_O That's completely and totally insane. I had someone say I looked like someone they knew, but he was polite and friendly. He did give me odd looks though since he couldn't figure out why I was ignoring him. Since I looked just like this other girl he knew.
Wow, that's a lot of money. It's just crazy how much books cost these days. It makes me feel old since I remember paying $30 for books when I got my degree. @_@

I got some of them used, fortunately. But some I had to buy new since this will be the first semester they're being used in the school, so there aren't any used ones for me to buy.

Good grief! What kind of junk was that lady shooting up? That's is weirdest random thing to have happen. I'm glad you had Indi with you as backup. I wonder if she really was hopped on something... Hopefully the police straightened her out and you won't ever run into her again.
Oh yeah, school books are rediculously expensive. Did you buy all of them new or some used?
