"Today, I passed by a British man on the sidewalk. Loving his accent, I said " 'Ello!" as I walked by. He stopped, turned around, and yelled "PIP PIP! Cheerio! Wot wot! 'Ello guvnuh! Good day to you, sir!" then continued on his merry way. I freaking love British people. MLIA"
I know right? I thought I knew Shawty, like, a short person, but it ended up just being a girl or small boy xDDD
So close *snaps fingers*
haha! Once, these pastors from Ire- er, I MEAN 'ARLAND, (pff i don't even know if the accent's supposed to be that strong xD) came to preach at my church and the lady couldn't say Spirit! xD
It sounded like, "Spurt" cuz she was taking so fast <3
I never say "holy spirit" anymore! xDDD 'Oly Spurt!' xD
Ooh I'm terrible at British Accents. xD
It's really fun to watch "British people speak American" on Youtube xDDDDD
OH I KNOW watch this, it might help you with some slang ;D (I love house! haha!)
"Ello, maite. Blimey, is et tea tieme already? Well, Cheerio!" *waves like a queen*
That's my best impression >< (not meant to be offensive!!)
now, Irish accents are a TOTALLY different story 8D
"Et's pronownced AARSH, ye git!!" eek! xD
Soo, I just looked up wanker and I was right, it IS British slang(Australian slang, too, but still British), and I have to say, I never thought one of the meanings could be so vulgar XD
Well, one side it's pretty much the same as "jerk" but the other side of the word is vulgar(ehh, look it up, I'm not typing it here)
That's so inaccurate.
Or.
Hey chap. GSQ. That's so inaccurate. So not Parliament. I'm serious.
Besides, it's not like we say "That's so President" or "That's so Govorner." or "That's so Senator."
AHEM. May I educate you with my intense knowledge of the English culture.
1.) Idk
2.) Idk
3.) So Britain is in the UK. Fer sure. Not in the US. Like.. uhhhh.. yeah.
4.) I'm pretty sure they call it the US. Or United States or America. They're not idiots, after all. It's not like we call England "THAT ISLAND THINGIE WITH FISH AND CHIPS."
5.) British slang? You're speakin' to a MASTAHHHH. I'm serious. In fact, "I'm serious" is one of England's most popular slang phrases. They also say "hey, chap." and "jolly good day, gents." Also common among the Englishman is his love of tea, so often they will shout "IT'S TEA TIME!!" when people ask "what's the hour?"
Other common British slang phrases:
-God Save the Queen (Like OMG, GSQ)
-Toss up the biscuits (Like when we say Cough up the dough)
-That's so Parliament (Instead of our usual "That's so boss")
Now you are educated in the British culture. Good day now.
Yes, we should throw a party 8D
Uhh, I have no association with those who have British accents, though I've heard the term "wankers" being used by plenty from UK, not exactly sure if it's slang or just some British curse word though...
I'mma go with DetectiveDiva... I can't help with the accent questions, but congrats on being super close to 3,000 hugs! *runs to your portfolio to see if I give you more hugs* WHY CAN I ONLY HUG YOUR AWESOME ART ONCE?!?!
