Gallery art is nice to look at... but I agree with you, I can't get inspired by it in the same way that movies and music interest me. ;u;
Haha, I can tell you're worked up! xD It's good to have opinions on things, though. :9 It's something I'm not good at.
/random
Haha, maybe they were thinking that. xD I had the feeling they weren't, though.
Prom dresses?! o____o Holy cow, yo. Well, at least they put their expensive dresses to good use... I guess. xD That's a pretty impressive show.
Yeah, I do understand that having a meaning is important. ;u; But I'd like to be able to know how to draw what I want to say before I say it, you know? xD
Ooh, that sounds cool. :D Good luck!!
Thanks! ;u; Glad you think so, haha. xD
Ahhh, portfolios are always so stressful! And I really dislike those colleges or just places that say stuff like that. They want the gallery art, which I personally find dull. I mean, some of them are cool, and they might be nice to hang in your building, but you don't see them in movies and music, etc. that truly inspire you.
For the meaningful part....for me I sorta already do that just 'cause when I draw I want everything to fit in place like a puzzle to turn out great. But I do think knowing how to draw and wanting to improve in that should be supported instead of this expectation that they have lots of inner feelings for their pics...
Sorry, it's just, judging of art gets me worked up sometimes....>3>
Aww, I hate it when I got somewhere and I'm over dressed. Maybe they were looking at you instead and thinking 'Crap, I'm underdressed'...but you really don't know at these things. When I went to some of my portfolio reviews that were people there wearing their prom dresses and I was just wearing a nice blouse and some pants...;m;
I personally didn't do any fan art... but I think you're allowed to. He asked if some of my drawings were of any particular characters, so I'm assuming he meant if they were from a manga/anime. The fact that he asked is a good indication that it's not against the rules.
Although, it's probably best not to do fan art, because they may prefer to see what you can come up with on your own instead of borrowing someone else's design. But if you think you would make a better piece of art if it was fan art, then go for it. c:
Thanks! Did you submit any fan art? I know you do a lot of oc's. My portfolio guideline says "8-10 pieces of artwork done on your own or in class, PLUS three projects from the assigned list." it doesn't say anything about fan art or it being original. I really want to do a DW piece for the assigned list part.
Oh yeah, I see what you're saying. :o I don't think I could ever do one of those. xDD 100 pictures = waaay to much for me to handle. orz
And thanks! :D There's just random stuff on my wall. It used to be Takara's room, so I never bothered to take down all the pictures she had up. xD
Yep. It's actually known for its engineering school (??? xD I don't want to be an engineer either), but it has a good art program too. I wanted to try for an art-and-social sciences degree that they offer since I don't want to only do art... but idk, I'm pretty confused with college right now. ;u; I finished my applications, so I'm just waiting to see where I get accepted.
so that school was more for fine art then? i know a girl in one of my classes last semester had gone to one prior and also said that each piece had to have meaning, it was very important for them lol
you might want to look into schools that focus more on the commercial side of things?
I tried to get bangs once, but the hairstylist said something about my hair wouldn't let it stay. ;u; So I guess I'm destined not to have bangs. xD I am getting a haircut this weekend though! We'll see how it goes.
Sure, ask away! I'm not sure how helpful I'll be because I was really awkward during my review... and it's probably different for each school. :m But go ahead~
Haha, thank you. xD
I actually have to work on my portfolio. Is it alright if I ask questions about it if I have?
That's an odd question to ask. I'm not sure why he asked it x3 at least the review went well.
You look pretty! Haha, I can see the resemblance x3

That would be sweet if it did. Maybe a hair stylus can fix it that way.
