Nah, man, it's got some comedy elements. It's totes light hearted, but I never realized that I was actually making jokes or that any slight jokes I tried to make were actually funny...'orz It IS sorta a romantic comedy slightly but then again...I do not like putting genres with my stuff so much because I never really think of the genre so much when I'm writing it.
Ah, I probably was someone who said it was funny. xD OOPS. But yeah, do what you want with your comic! A lot of people like reading dramas, too... but maybe they get confused when they don't know the genre, and assume for some reason it's a comedy?
idk what I'm getting at.
Actually, it wasn't you! xD I've always felt from the beginning that you weren't really focused on Tomato's gender, so much as his clothes. Which is the point of Tomato, I think.
The person who praised Tomato's originality was a younger user, I think, and if I remember correctly they made a specific reference to his gender.
Ah, it's really good that you think of Tomato like that! It's actually pretty similar to how he thinks about himself, because he doesn't think about his gender a lot--something I think is what distinguishes him from trap characters, who are aware of gender and deliberately acting out of it. I don't really want gender and sexual orientation to be a big focus with Tomato.
Also, I'm going to remember "I see Tomato more as a...tomato..." forever. -u-b
I feel the same way about my comics. My first chapter of Idolling I did not think was funny at all....I was not planning on it being funny, but a lot of people said it was funny. Then in the next few chapters I tried to be funny but it did not work...Maybe do not expect comedy???
Ah! Was I the person who praised you for Tomato's originality? :D
I do think Tomato is quite original and I never saw him as a trap character...or I never saw him as female. Tomato is his own thing...I see Tomato more as a...tomato...asexual...But if he's homosexual, that's totes okay with me. I do not really see Tomato for his gender, but rather because he looks funny. That might be what it is. It's not that people even care much about the gender or sexuality of Tomato, but that Tomato looks silly and very colorful so then we like Tomato more.
