((WAH thanks for all the comments from nowhere! xD Gonna reply to all of them, like I usually do;;; SLOWLY...))
Haha, yep, I was Naoto from P4! *u*b Glad you think I look like her, haha. :,D
My older sister basically told me how to use the worbla... she found tutorials and techniques online, 'cause she follows a lot of cosplayers and their processes. :^D
Weeeh, sorry about your lack of time/convention/car/etc...! Maybe some day... *stares wistfully into the distance*

I just now realized that the Naoto you were talking about was the one from Persona 4! XD I was like 'I dunno who that is, but she sure does look like that girl who dresses as a boy from Persona 4'...;orz
I actually thought you were cosplaying Yoite for the longest time...;orz Them animoos...>3>
I think it's a really good last minute cosplay! You look just like her!
And holy crap! Your skills at that worbla stuff! How did you learn all this stuff?!
This is making me really want to cosplay something but I have no ideas/skills/time/an anime convention to go to/a car....;orz
"sorry this is so long" MAN I APPRECIATE ALL THIS NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE :D
Awesome, thanks so much!! I will lock that away in my head so I can make super rad armor one day
YOU CAN DO IT!! *U*
Using paint, mostly! Here's my process:
After molding the worbla into the shape you want, coat it with 4 or 5 coats of gesso (painting primer). You can buy bottles of it at Michael's. I use Liquitex brand, but any is probably fine. :v This is what the worbla looks like with 4-ish coats of gesso.
Once the gesso dries, sand the gesso layer using sand paper, without exposing the worbla underneath. If you do an initial sanding with a rough, larger grain sandpaper followed by a smoother, smaller grain sandpaper, the gesso layer will become nice and smooth. :^D
Paint the sanded gesso with acrylic paint. I use liquitex acrylic paint, but again, other acrylic paints are probably fine. For metal, I use white and gray, and black for deeper shadows. Here's what something I did looks like with paint.
Using a paper towel, rub metallic acrylic paint over the dried paint.
Finally, put two or three layers of gloss over the paint. I use DuraClear Gloss Varnish. This is mainly to protect the paint, to prevent it from chipping and stuff. here's what the same piece of armor looks like after adding metallic paint and gloss.
Sorry this is so long, haha;;; Hope this is helpful!

THANKS!!!
I'm using a combination of craft foam and worbla for the armor! Worbla's a great material 'cause if you heat it up it's flexible, so you can mold it into whatever shape you want. And then it becomes solid again when it cools. :^D (there are tons better explinations and tutorials than what I just said, haha;;)
The only horrible thing about it is how butt-expensive it is. orz My dad was super nice to me and bought me a roll for my birthday, so that's the only reason I even have it, aha. ;u;/
OKAY BUT THAT MEETING WAS A FREAK CHANCE AND TOTALLY NOT PLANNED.... You're next on my list to meet, hehehe. B) COME TO ANIME USA, I THINK BOTH ALY AND I ARE GOINGGG!!! *U*
