Hm...well I have a pretty big tablet: Wacom Intuos3 9x11 tablet.
The good thing about having smaller tablets is that you have to move your arm around less. The size of your tablet equates with the size of your screen, so if you have a bigger tablet, you have to move around more.
I'd definitely recommend Intuos if your Dad is willing to pay for it, because it's pressure sensitive, but you might want to try a smaller size if you want. Definitely go for pressure sensitive(and as a bonus, you can tell your dad that it comes with free computer editing software like Photoshop, Corel Painter and such), because it makes for much easier drawing. Prices will probably vary with the size/design, but Wacom is definitely recommended ^^
Happy early birthday Akioh-chan!! ^^ I sure hope you get some wonderful gifties~!
Your getting a tablet. :O How dare you! lol. jk jk. But really, you lucky duck you. :3 But what I've heard is that using a tablet will take a while to get used to, and I THINK it's a little harder for you if you JUST begin with it, but it's a little better for making the lineart of something. This is BASICALLY all I know about tablets, and I think you just push down on it to draw as if your using a pencil on paper, but not too hard, it may lose all sensitivity and not work proporly. Like I said befor, I'm not 100% sure, but this is what I've heard about them, hope this little bit of info helps. :3
Well, I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun. It's $99 for the small, about the size of a mousepad, comes with a pen, and cordless mouse. It also includes software. Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter, etc.
Hope that helps!
