My friend, you seriously put me to shame But your right. The powers that be know WEare dying for this game to come out again. Maybe they think that by making us wait, when they finally release it for an insane amount of money, we'll pay whatever just to have it again
Oh yeah, I love the ending to the game. You've never finished that legend of a game?! Oh my, go beat it right now. XD To be honest, in replays I rarely finish it when I've play it, but I am kinda proud to say that I have finished it. Even the hubby, who loves that game and so wants a remake too, has never completed it. It is long if you take the time to do everything.
I did all the damn chocobo breeding and racing lol. But once you get that chocobo and get that Knights of the Round summon the end fighting is a cake walk lol. And I admit, by that point in the game I just wanted to kick the snot out of Sephiroth just to finish it, so I did the KotR summon, and had that materia were it'll duplicate the spell, then the characters with the, god I can't think of names anymore, but where they will mirror a move... and just let it run and it's one move - good by Sephiroth time lol. Easiest fight in history lol. Some people say that's cheating, but do you know how holy freaking long I spent on time and in game money I spent to race and breed that freaking gold chocobo?! A lot longer than fighting out some of those hard fights the long way. And I spent ages in the battle arena to get that insane amount of points in one go you have to get to be able to buy Cloud's final limit break. So to all those people I say bite me cause I probably spent longer playing the game than them lol.
Thing is they know they have a high demand for it too. It think it's one of their most frequently asked questions, so they know.
FF7 was one of the first computer games I ever played I think. The hubby and I (then boyfriend) in college used to watch his roommate play the game and at the time, the fights were so fantastic looking. And just watching him play out this story was so interesting, so before I knew anything about playing it, I was in love with the story of the game. It was even better once I started playing it myself, it's the game that introduced to me to RPGs and computer games all in one.
I played the PC version first, then the PS one. I think if I'd have played it opposite I would have hated the PC one lol. The graphics were better, but the control of the game for some things like the chocobo racing and any of those parts where you had to press this or that on the controller to do it, didn't translate into the easiest gameplay on the PC and with a keyboard. It happens to a lot of console turned PC games. But at the time, I was a total noob when it came to all that lol.

It was the very 1st FF game I ever bought and played. I didn't beat it lol but still loved every moment of it. Hell, I still have the game. I just can't play it due to the fact that my system is the 40gb stupid ass one that isn't backwards compatable. But an updated one, using the full power of the Blu-Ray disc graphics, along with anything else that they may have wanted to include in the game would make all the fanboys/fangirls scream with pure nerd joy. Instead, they get pure nerd rage. Teasing us and then saying 'o no, we have no plans to do something like that. we are working on FFXV' who the fuck cares!!! Gives us the fucking game already. Haven't they realized it yet that suddenly the old games are starting to make a comeback? A few years ago when they released MGS3-Snake Eater, they came out with the edition that included the original Metal Gear 1 and 2 games. Now that was bad ass cuz you got to play through and see everything that lead up to MGS. So if the companies can do that, why not appease the masses that have been dying for this one game? Just give us what we ask for and we are guaranteeing you, you'll get rich quick
But I bet there are lots more people who think it was an awesome game. I mean come on, that game is the reason 3D games became well known and it's the best seller of the FF.... 10 million copies have been sold. Obviously, SOMEONE loves the game lol. It made the playstation. And it's been in the lists of best games and rpg's ever, even Gamespot nominated it as one of the most significant games ever.
You know that's like an urban myth. For many years they have been talking about a remake. Some people feel the game really isn't that good to begin with, so why do a remake on a shitty game?
