Well I saw the movie by accident and it was just funny enough for me to watch. Thats the reason I added the show. I know the show comes before the movie, so I maybe going backwards, but once again, I'm trying to watch it all so as to now leave anything unwatched
The movie Serenity isn't bad by itself if you had never seen Firefly... but it's soooooo much better if you had seen the show first. Definitely watch Firefly! It's phenomenal. How can you not love a space western? And the dialog is so witty.
I saw the movie, loved it, but had never really saw the show. I currently have it on my Netflix queue. So thank you for making it apparent I have yet another show to hit up soon.
Firefly fans like to call themselves Browncoats. In the series, during the civil war the rebels wore brown coats, so that's where the nickname came from, they called all the rebels browncoats. So fans adopted that name too.
Same here. How I originally watched GTO was Someguy, on this site recommended it to me, and I've loved it ever since. I think he still has Onizuka as his icon lol. He's also the guy who got me into Ranma 1/2 and Naruto... so I can't complain, he's suggested a lot of my favs. And in return I made him a Firefly and Dead Zone fan lol.
And on a different note, I've also converted some of my girl friends on this site into yaoi fans LOL, even one who was pretty against yaoi originally too. I'm persistent like that yo, but I do it out of love! Honest!
I would say just give it a try, it's a series you get emotionally into pretty quick. I was crying by like, the second episode lol and I think I cried almost every freaking episode. And I just have to point out, I DON'T cry over movies or books either. It's very, very hard to get me teary-eyed over emotional scenes. It has to be extremely good, like the ending of Braveheart kind of good lol. Funny enough the hubby is the movie crier LOL, anyway... we were both bawling most episodes. So that should tell you something.
Well cuz you recommend it, I have to give it a go...again. I tried watching the 1st epi, but really didn't get into it. But to be fair, I didn't give it it's due and I read the same thing, how it was a good show.

I love FMP! It's such a good show. Oh and if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend the GTO live action show, its only like 12 episodes or something like that, but it's phenomenal. Usually live action shows blow, but omg is GTO awesome. It has my highest recommendation for any TV show I could suggest to anyone. It really is amazing. There is and never will be such a "feel good" show ever. And it's got one of the best opening songs ever, it's sung by the guy who plays Onizuka. Just youtube Takashi Sorimachi - Poison. I believe final episode of GTO held, or might still hold the record in Japan for the most watched show, like MASH held the record here for decades.

I think I could use some of that witty dialog right now to calm me down before I launch my whole computer out the window. Le sigh.
