Let's see....your aunt and uncle get killed, later on you find out by your own father. You find out who you dad really is. You've been without a father all these years and your dbag of a uncle won't let you join the academy cuz he needs you for one more season? Hell yea I'd be heated and full of issues.
And he had the best teachers in Obi Wan and Yoda. I mean, Yoda is freaking Yoda lol. And Obi Wan is like the ultimate Jedi, everyone would have died without him lol. So Luke had a good start. Even though he had anger issues, like most young people lol, he wasn't a dbag like his father haha.
Aww I've loved him from the start. I mean, I've read the books and have seen him go thru so much. True when he was first intro'd, he was really nothing. But he jumped from a scrub to a true man between Episode IV and V. When he went off for training and finally met up with Lord Vader, he wasn't the same farmboy as when he first left Tatooine. And of course the six months between V and VI, he really started to almost resemble his father. So was he going to do some of the same mistakes Ani did, or rise above and finally be a Jedi? Besides, being the last true Jedi leaves a heavy burden on a person.

You know, originally I disliked Luke as a character a lot. But after watching the prequels now, and learning a whole lot about Star Wars in general, and coming to respect Jedi a lot. Luke has grown on me. I rewatched some of the original movies for the first time in ages and ages the other week, and Luke wasn't so bad.
