I'm glad someone else enjoyed this movie as much as I did. It was one of the first times a movie finished, and I watched it again- right after. Kept my brain rolling round for a good week- even though I'd interpreted the ending clearly. And damn, that music at the ending. I needed a bucket for my tears. ;___;
And I loved Inception too, but I have to mention it- damn, Leonardo! What is it with you in movies and insane/dead wives?
Ha, I try as hard as I can to stay away from people who have seen movies before me (am currently doing it with Inception) :D But yes, I understand there were some changes made from the book, but I can't remember what they were. I think something concerning Teddy's final mental state, but I'm not 100% sure.
Lol, I felt the dragged out ending thing when I watched LOTR 3; man, that one had at least 5 points when it could have ended! I was all prepared to finish watching when BAM! another ending!
Agreed about A Beautiful Mind, it definitely takes a lot of patience until you get to the plot. Almost half of it is exposition. I still love it, but I don't know if I'll see it another time (already seen it twice) :3
I can't even remember what happens in the Saw series 8D They're so many it's easy for me to mix them up. But I loved the third one, couldn't believe they'd actually kill off Jigsaw that soon - but then again, I doubt they were considering 4 more movies at the time.
And yes, 10/10 because I've seen it three times already and feel like seeing it again. Plus, 3 points are solely my personal, biased opinion :3 (tried to keep the others fairly objective)

Wow, 10 out of 10?? O: I thought it was good...but not perfect. It's cause my mom read the book way before the movie was ever being made, and so when she saw that it was coming out...she kinda spilled the beans. So I already knew the ending. I knew what was up. I thought the ending was too long though...like it should've ended 20 minutes earlier lol! But yeah, I'd say overall it was a cool movie. it's just one of those that when you already know the surprise about the end, it's not as exciting. :/ That's how I feel about a Beautiful Mind, too. Very good, but once you know what's up, it's different.
Btw, Saw definitely makes you say such things. XD I've grown to love that series lol!! Like you! Although I admit I don't like the earlier ones that much. My favorite is 5, then 4...I haven't seen 6 yet, and I don't want to see the new one in 3D (vertigo), so I have to wait for it to come out on dvd lol.
Agreed, I also got the same impression (spoiler'd as well :D ) Indeed, he was ill. However, in the end, he had a breakthrough and realized what was happening to him (out of his own free will, because he was creating his own delusions). Thus, he decided to give up rather than live with the trauma and possibly hurt others again.
And I can't for the life of me understand how others could think he was sane the whole time. It just doesn't make sense. Though I love the fact that the ending is so discussed :D

Spoiler'd everything just in case ^^; For me, it seemed that, in the end, he really was ill. There was a quote he said at the end as he was being led away that led me to this conclusion: "Which would be better, to live as a monster or die a good man?".
I thought the monster could be referring to his memories the unfortunate events in his family and/or living with a disorder that made him "crazy". So he'd rather die in the state thinking he was the good guy out to get revenge for his sweetheart, or even just knowing and accepting the truth.
I think if he had meant "monster" as in an experimental patient or something like that, there could have been a more appropriate word used, like "animal" or "ghost" which had been brought up in the movie previously.
