Hm, I haven't watched any horror movies lately, either. I think I'm past that phase, lol XD And, well, not to nitpick or anything, but I think he wrote the screenplay; then, after the movie was sorta successful, he wrote a book about it (and a sequel too, if I'm not mistaken). I love it too, one of the best King movies, his books-to-movies are usually awful XD
I'm also very touched that you remembered who my favorite author is <33
Saw... I don't like horror movies much, the only I liked was one made after a book of your favorite author, Stephen King (if I remember well) called "Rose" (I'm not sure about the name).
But I agree, "The prestige" is better than "The Illusionist".

I caught The Illusionist on TV too, but I wasn't too impressed with it (and I hadn't seen Prestige yet, mind you, that was a few years later). If you've seen Saw, you can see the twist a mile away lol
I agree, Illusionist was more romantic, but it didn't make me care for the characters the way Prestige did :
OMG! I loved this movie! I don't know why, but I love movies with magicians... I even watched "The Illusionist", but I must confess I liked this one a little bit more. Maybe because it's more dramatic if I remember well. (Sorry but I saw it a long time ago.) "The Illusionist" is more of a romantic story from my point of view, but they have something in common: hot leading men! You can't deny that! The things I think about... :D
